Desperate times call for desperate measures.

This late in the preseason there aren't a whole lot of attractive choices. And I doubt teams will be cutting kickers with a better average.

Don't disagree with you. Guess the other 2 guys they brought in the first time for tryouts were beyond terrible that giving up a draft choice, even late, to sign an average at best kicker was the preferable choice.

If that's the case...that just shows how horrible the Steelers options were in free agency. Scobee will be just fine.

Scobee has been a good kicker for years. Suisham had some bad years as well.

Do some of you guys do anything but complain?? It's September, we need a kicker, we got one that doesn't suck, and all you can do is complain that he is not kicking like a HOF inductee.

                  Take a chill pill!

This may be directed at me but I don't think I'm a big complainer. And it's not that he's not a hall of famer but it bums me out they had to waste a draft pick (fully understanding the circumstances were what they were) for a guy who was about to be cut in literally a few days by one of the worst teams in the league.

He fills a need but he's not the sure thing kicker Suisham has been the last couple of seasons. FGs did not just become more reliable. Let's be realistic. You can put a bow and some lipstick on a pig, doesn't make it Kate Upton. Got an average kicker, which we must have, but it's not the ideal situation.

Aww heck, reading constant complaints about every decision the FO and coaches make gets really old, doesn't it?

Sometimes it reads like I imagine a Ravens or Browns board would.

This is because some Steeler fans think we will be the bottom of the barrel after Ben is gone like the Browns! Some think the defense has one foot in the they stink pool AKA Browns pool alreadyl! Same pool the dog pound swims/baths in once a year.

The fact that the Steelers gave up a draft pick to get Scobee, does that mean that they're done with Suisham?

I have no problems with people expressing concerns. That's the nature of football debate and a message board.
