Perhaps it's all the talk of the Shemitah on the internet recently that has me reflecting on the past, but thinking back, this coming season seems eerily similar to the team's 2008 campaign.
So hear me out, starting in the 2006 [2013], the bottom fell out so to speak. The team started the season going 2-6 and ended that year going 6-2 gaining momentum heading into the off-season. The following year 2007 [2014] the team builds on the moment they built from the previous season finishing 10-6 [11-5] and capturing a division title. As was the case in both seasons, the team ultimately lost at home in the divisional round of the playoffs. Now we arrive to today with the 2015 season at hand. Just as it was in the 2008 season, the team has been gifted with the league's toughest schedule which, of all things, once again features a trip to Foxborough to face a Patriots team without its starting quarterback.
Here's hoping that history, even if at no other time, truly does repeat itself.
