I saw JH's tweet and applauded.
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

Deebo is right! Its one thing for Schefter to report that JPP lost a finger. That will be public knowledge soon anyway.
Its quite another for him to put up a pic of his medical report. That is simply not acceptable. I expect he'll get sued.

You know what, I agree that the photo was not the way to report the case. I suspect JH's beef is more with the leak, which I have zero problem with Shefter reporting. But in Shefter's defense: How often do celebrities flat-out lie when they refute stories written about them, question/mock the reporter's claims, and often impugn the integrity of the reporter.

Again, I don't agree with showing the pic as the way to break this story, but I also recognize the arena (NFL breaking news reporting) in which Shefter operates. It's dog-eat-dog.
I wasn't hired for my disposition.

Heard JPP is suing the hospital for releasing these records. Feel like JPP is gonna get two big paydays this off season

Unless a celebrity is lying under oath it isn't against the law. In this case, the hospital is on the hook for HIPAA violations under the confidentiality areas. Every employee at that hospital has had to watch the bad acting videos and take a HIPAA exam every year and know that allowing Shefter that picture is a violation. The hospital is in this one deep and I don't see any circumstance how they aren't guilty.

Like them or not the HIPAA laws are on the books and the hospital is in trouble. I doubt that a reporter had to sign an SLA (Service Level Agreement) or BA (Business Associate Agreement) which legally, in all likelihood, protects Schefter from the lawsuit. And, IMO, what Schefter did is the most abhorrent behavior in this incident, the hospital unfortunately is going to bear the brunt of the punishment. Hopefully, the hospital can determine who aided Schefter and fire them and limit their financial harm from JPP's lawsuit. As a nation, we need hospitals, so hopefully, they will be able to remain in business.

Schefter will be a pariah in locker rooms and after games, no player will want to talk with him, I'm sure ESPN will dump him soon, he's toxic right now.

                You nailed it, Pappy.

I liked Schefter more than most in the national media before this incident - it's a shame that he did this, particularly since it really adds nothing to the report.

Yeah, he really didn't think this thing through. Just reporting that JPP's finger was going to be cut off would have broke the news. (Even if JPP refuted it, in the end, his report would've obviously become substantiated when people saw his hand.)

In my previous post, I wasn't trying to necessarily defend him. Lately I've been on the kick of trying to be more objective when it comes to news and stories (i.e. the motives). Like even a murderer or child molester, trying to think about their point of view. haha, not to say Shefter is in that class!

You heard it here first, folks! Adam Schefter is a murderer and a child molester! Shoe is going to Instagram a picture of his latest psychiatric evaluation for proof.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Maurkice Pouncey some extra hats lying around somewhere. You could probably cross out "Hernandez" and replace it with "Schefter."

Yeah, not sure he would have a case against a reporter. He would have a case against the medical institute that leaked them...HIPPA law violations and what not.

did Schaffer lie? If not, what's the problem?

Its not like there is a game next week and the team was trying to hide his injury.

Reporters have a job to dig for information. They aren't supposed to be liked by players IMO.

As a few have said, Schefter is only guilty of poor judgment. Maybe ESPN cares, maybe they don't, but I'll be willing to bet that players in general won't want to talk with him any longer, just my opinion. No, he didn't lie or give anything that isn't fact, but it was a pretty lowbrow move IMO. He could have reported it and it would have been verified as fact soon enough, there was no reason to publish JPP's medical records about the injury.

It exposes the hospital to fairly severe fines and makes him look like a tool.
