Caught some of it. O'Donnell had no ability to escape the pocket. I forgot he was that poor at that aspect. Dawson play at center was special.

yeah it was a nice reminder that although that defense was very awesome, they still had flaws. Kirkland hit a freaking ton. Cool seeing Thigpen and Hastings and Bruener, but honestly they looked so slow compared to Brown, Miller and Bryant.... what a difference!

As a kid growing up ...if the Steelers were down by 2 scores it would take a miracle for them to come from behind (Talking post Bradshaw Steelers).

That game was the first time I thought to myself "we can finally come from behind"

Sid I'm totally with ya! Didn't Lloyd come up to ODonnell on the sideline after a big drive to give him some props? Prior to that, there was a bit of a rift btwn the Defense and the Offense.

I believe so .... Prior to O'Donnell and Chan Gailey's 4 and 5 wide formations on passing down if we had 3rd and long you held your breath and just hoped we could convert.

All the sudden we were putting drives together and moving the chains.

Maybe O'Donnell was scared of Lloyd?? HaHa

That's what Gailey brought to the O and why Ron Erhardt was allowed to go to the Jets with O'Donnell...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

Cowher would almost always call the draw on 3rd and long. Just looking not to turn it over and trust the D.

It was crazy when it would work. If I know what the play is going to be, how do pro coaches / players not know what's coming.

That yr I believe Chan Gailey took over that Offense. Remember when the Steelers kicked the onside in Superbowl XXX. After they kicked the FG (that led to that kickoff) Cowher was asking Chan if they should go surprise onside over the radio headset. He obviously had a lot of trust in Gailey.

Gailey was very inventive with the Steelers...he invented the "Buffalo" package on offense to take advantage of a young Kordell Stewart...10+ years later, it was called the "Wildcat"...
