If Steelers don't want red flag LBs, do these incidents make a tradedown more likely?

A little while ago, I was proposing a possible trade down with Jacksonville if Todd Gurley were available at 22, but it looks like that could be quite unlikely now since he's expected to come off the board pretty early. However, there are teams in the top 10 who probably fell in love with Gregory or Ray early on the process and planned on taking them in the top 10 once upon a time, but now that these incidents occurred, perhaps those teams picking high go for a top tier wideout or o-lineman instead, because they feel they are safer than Gregory or Ray. However, that strong desire for Gregory or Ray remains, so if they fall into the early 20's, and our front office is legitimately not interested (for whatever reason), might one of those top 10 teams be willing to give up a decent bounty to get back into the first round again to get Gregory or Ray in addition to whatever other top 10 talent they already drafted? Then the red flag guy wouldn't be the "face of the draft" for that team, but rather an "icing on the cake" potential second top 10 talent taken later on. If the front office researched the talented guys with red flags and decided that they aren't worth the trouble, then I'd rather have a bunch of day two picks, which seems like the meat of this draft.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

This draft is going to have a bunch of guys fall due to off the field issues. we have a CB who is uncoachable, two OLB who can't stop smoking pot, and an OT that is part of a murder investigation. OH and a QB who has so many question marks it isn't funny. Turning into the ghetto league.

      agreed.
i will really be disappointed with the steelers if they risk a 1st rounder on known dope heads.
they have to be concerned where Leveon is headed with his drug issue.
taking another one would not shed good light on the franchise.
i will be shocked if they select either guy.

Lol. What a fvcking ridiculous post. Smoking weed that is against drug policy is stupid but its not crack. I don't anticipate bell having another issue and if the guys interview well with Pittsburgh some of those guys won't be leaving their board. Colbert himself said as much....some of you are dramatic. I also don't expect a trade down. The issues will put guys in our range that never would be there otherwise.

I would LOVE a trade-down, but I think most anyone would love a trade-down. I do not see many teams willing to take the risk on a guy to move up. I think it is much safer to just stay pat, and wait for a guy like Nate Orchard and others (in that 2nd range).
I wasn't hired for my disposition.

Have you seen the tape on Gregory in 2014? When the offense ran the ball directly at him, he didn't look too good. In fact, he looked awful at times.... I think he's gonna fall down the boards just because of that.. Gruden on ESPN said there's no way he's a 1st rounder. Good pass rusher, but if you can't get to 2nd and 10's or 3rd and longs because you are giving up chunks of yards on 1st down, why even bother drafting this guy as a pass rusher.

If a trade is offered, then it would be Gregory or Ray at 22 or else someone like Harold or OO or Orchard later, plus another early 3rd round pick.

you must be a dope head yourself if you think its just as safe to draft one of these guys as it is to draft a similar rated player that has no drug issues.
i dont remember colbert stating he doesnt care if his potential draftees smoke dope. can you link that for me?

Nice. You're a piece of work and Colbert said they will do their due diligence with guys that have had some off field issues. As in they will get to the bottom of the problems and then determine if they remain on their board. How many of the problem children were brought in for visits. My count had several.
