Time to sign a vet corner

Ok, the corner market is now ice cold. Tarrell Brown, Zach Bowman, and a few others are still available. Brown (30) is still a capable starter if he has recovered from a foot injury from last season. Why not bring him in for a visit and a workout or medical check? Zach Bowman would be my second choice. He would give us a depth player in the least. Both of these players should be affordable and could be signed with a small bonus and little risk. I believe we have the cap space already. But, certainly the Polamalu retirement will save us even more. We will still need to draft at least one corner in the first few rounds. But, at least bringing these guys in seems like a no brainer to me.
Even if Bill Belichick was getting an atomic wedgie, his face would look exactly the same.

Maybe they are waiting until after May 12 so signings don't count against next year's compensatory pick formula anymore.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Worilds was the only shot i think

McCain should bring back a 7th round comp pick. DeAngelo doesn't count since he was released.

I'd wait not to protect the comp pick, but because the guys out there are not particularly good. Gay, Cortez and Blake will be on the roster next year. If the Steelers draft two corners, one in the first two days and one on the third day, the first guy will likely make the team, and the second will be competing with Webb and whoever else is back there. I don't see any of the guys available as a significant improvement over the top 3, such as they are - just more of the same.

protecting a 7th round comp pick seems like a silly way to put it.

Chances are if you are able to draft a guy with the 258th pick in the draft you can probably sign him as an UDFA.

Steelers would get shafted on the comp pick anyway lol....our 7th would give the bengals and ravens a 4th

Picking someone guarantees they're on ur preseason roster.

if they fall to UFA then they can choose to go elsewhere.

I understand this, im sure bidding wars don't get too intense for UDFAs
