I'm all for taking Owa Odi in that case. Pretty sure he would be an OLB/DE who we wouldn't have to wait three years for him to get big enough and strong enough to play The guy reportedly has outstanding functional natural strength.

Odighizuwas functional strength is flat out rare.

Id take him or peters if they are there.....pretty big dropoff to Kevin Johnson and Eli Harold imo, though i do like Johnson a lot

The more I see and read about these guys, the more I agree with this sentiment. I now prefer OO over Eli...but not sure the Steelers will see it the same way. I am also wondering how those hips will hold up.
        Trolls are people too.

As much as Ovi won't want to hear it, could the Steelers get better pass rush from both the DE's & OLB's, even the ILB's, if there was a true "block occupying" NT in place? As much as McLendon is a fine individual player, he's neither a "double team block commanding NT" or a "dominant 1 v 1 NT" type. He does not command an extra blocker, and when left to combat the OC, isn't pushing that player backwards with any consistancy.

If the Steelers could get THAT guy, commanding 2 blockers, taking an extra blocker off Tuitt or Heyward, or Jones, Moats...Timmons, Shazier...however the play comes out- isn't THAT improving the pass rush as much as just drafting a new OLB to see if he can do better than Worilds?

I'll still beat the drum- the drop-off in pass rush & run defense on this team started once Hampton moved on.
The people that are trying to make the world worse never take a day off, why should I?

          Light up the darkness.

Doesn't matter what I want and don't want to hear. The reality is the team isn't going to invest a high pick in a player who isn't on the field more than 50% of the snaps. In a pass first and pass often league the traditional NT is going the way of the RB on offense...don't need a star because a bunch of guys together can do it.
