    OT: Eagles Trade LeSean McCoy

    ...to Bills for Kiko Alonso.

C.J. Spiller will almost certainly not be heading back to Buffalo now.

    Thoughts?

Whoever is the BACKUP RB will have to understand and accept that role with the team.

SPILLER is going to be looking for MONEY that BELL will be getting after next season when the Steelers extend him. Not happening!

Chip Kelly will be out of a job after this season. WTF is he thinking? Philly is about to run this guy out of town. I thought the 76ers FO was bad but this is just silly.

I know McCoy is a big cap hit but he is still a game changer. Traded him for a LB coming off of knee surgery?

Pretty sure some newspaper in Philly is saying "What the Duck"

Spiller isn't coming here... no way, no how.

Spiller is a top ten RB talent, but with big injury concerns. Someone will pay for the talent, and it won't be in Pittsburgh.

I think the move in Philly was more about the cap. They need money to sign Maclin and they still need to add to the D. I think Kelly thinks that Polk/Sproles can carry the load, but it's a massive step down from McCoy, even though he had a "bad" year by his lofty standards.

Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Oh, it's strictly a cap move but it's the WRONG move IMO.

i think the eagles did pretty good. got an ascending defensive player for a RB scheduled to make 10 million dollars.

with a deep RB draft they can take a guy in the 1st and sign a FA.

they might get close to shadys prodction and save a ton of $$. throw in alonso and i see a win for the eagles

Agreed Eddie. RB light burns fast and furious. McCoy may never be the same.
They are offloading him at maximum value and just at the beginning of his inevitable decline.

I thought that Kelly was going to package Shady with a couple of first round picks to move up to get Mariota.

It would be interesting if the Eagles now sign C.J. Spiller as their replacement for Shady.

It also allows Rex Ryan to now sign his ILB of preference in free agency, former Jet LB David Harris.

I keep forgetting how this new CBA has forced teams to dump talented vets like crazy.

+1 good asset management. McCoy is a good player and I'd rather have him on my team. But, there just aren't many RBs that will outperform contracts that big as they get older. RBs are one of the most replaceable positions on a team now.
