yeah. jones and mitchell are not getting cut

I thought some of the young guys on defense showed signs of hope for the future on that side of the ball. Shamarko needs to see more playing time next year. Tuitt and Shazier made some plays. We need to find some corners next year. Jones needs to step it up next year or he is running out of excuses. Same with Mitchell, Im getting tired of his poor play. I think Josh Harris has shown enough that he could be a viable backup. I think TE is the main place on the offense that needs to be addressed.

Jones absolutely isn't getting cut, but Mitchell is a possibility. He's due a roster bonus and can be cut now without a significant cap hit. Would you pay him a roster bonus based on his play this year? I sure wouldn't.

He looked a lot better vs. cincy when he didnt have to cover up for troy running around playing free lance Safety. also, I just heard he's played with a torn groin all year and is having surgery this week to repair it

Wtf is everyone's fascination with Josh harris? The only time he didn't get stuffed at the line was when Baltimore was expecting pass. They gave up on him, tate and Archer for a reason

Jones won't get cut but like I have been saying since we drafted him he is over-hyped and won't be the answer to the pass rush help we need. Reality is if we keep just drafting OLBs and hoping we aren't fixing this defense. Best pass rushers are on the DL. Go to something that takes advantage of that.

If we let LeBeau stay and let him do things his way, expect more of the same on defense

Start with forcing Dick Lebeau to retire. Sorry to say this but development of players on Defensive side is outright horrible. They have invested so many draft picks on LBers and they still have to draft pass rushers early next draft.

On offense 2nd yr RB and a rookie WR are contributing. 6th Rd WR is Top-3 WR in NFL.

I say draft a LT, TE and a WR in early round and shore up the offense. Defense is going to be pathetic even if we draft early.

Retire Dick Lebeau. You know he has lost it when he cant pressure Flacco playing with makeshift OL on road. It looked like Orlando Pace was playing LT in place of James Hurst.

Move to 4-3 and draft one or two good D-linemen to overcome poor LBers. Sign a CB in FA.

Cut Troy and Ike. great players but father time has caught up with them.

On Offense we need a backup RB. WR to replace Wheaton and TE to replace Heath Miller.

My first Rd pick will be either a LT or D-Lineman whoever is BPA.

I'm a little more optimistic than most when it comes to this team in 2015/2016... here's a somewhat objective look at where we're at:

The defense showed steady improvement through the last 4 games or so...and the young guys (V. Williams, Spence, Tuitt, Shazier) will be even better next year. As has been said, we need to sure up our secondary... while keeping around some of the guys who played well (W. Gay,McCain, Blake, Will Allen). Troy and Ike are gone... Will Allen needs to be the day 1 starter (with the mind set of drafting a safety high... and/or Shamarko Thomas emerging)... This will be a make or break year for Cortez Allen.

Those we should sign/extend:
Arthur Moats
James Harrison
Kelvin Beachum
Matt Spaeth
Darrius Heyward Bey (Sp teams and depth WR)
Jason Worilds (for mid tier OLB pay)
Ben Tate

I'm ok with drafting a LT early if one is available, but also like Beachum there. He has performed well for the most part. I would be ok with moving him to Right Tackle and bumping Gilbert/Adams. We also need to draft a pass catching TE in the first 3-4 rounds... Heath is a good possession TE at this point... may have a year of production left in him.. Wide receiver corp is set. No need drafting one in my opinion. Also (and this is controversial), do we draft a QB in rounds 1-2 if the FO feels Ben's successor is on the board with our pick?

Overall I would be ok with being active in FA and the draft on the defensive side of the ball. I think we can be contenders in 2015..

We just need to hit a home run in the first round because we've gotten almost nothing out of our last 2 first round picks. I'm not saying that Jones and Shazier are busts but they haven't contributed jack squat to our substandard defense.

We haven't been able to run against Baltimore since about 1999. We couldn't run against them this year even in the two games Bell played. I wouldn't judge Harris based on last night's game.

Absolutely. Hopefully everyone now quits defending the "legend" and sees he is the problem not the answer. Who is the last star player he developed on defense? As much as some want to blame everyone but LeBeau, he has a major voice in talent evaluation and he is the key person in talent development and he should be the one who maximizes what they do to use the talent he has. He has failed for several years on both counts.

Yes. We can't wait for "conversion projects" anymore. Our pass rushing strength is now with Heyward and Tuitt and to a lesser extent McLendon. We do not have the talent or depth at LB to successfully run a attacking 3-4 defense. Worilds will likely be gone. Jones is likely average at best. Heyward is an All Pro double digit sack guy in a 4-3...possibly Tuitt also

Don't need anyone to replace Wheaton. WR is our strongest position group and Wheaton had a solid season. A Top 3 of Brown, Bryant and Wheaton is as good as any in the league. Need to spend a pick that is more than a late round afterthought on a TE to groom to replace Miller. Miller had a solid season but more drops than he has ever had and he can't get yards after the catch anymore. Back up RB is mid to late pick need.

One thing I can never figure out is our cap situation. Any cap guru's out there want to give us some insight on where we are with that. We could sure use a solid f/a signing this off season that is for sure.

Not a guru, but my understanding is it sucks...again.

Won't get better with a Ben extension and likely needs to resign/extend guys like Heyward, DeCastro, etc.
