    Umm....Arthur Moats?

Wonder why no one has mentioned how big a game he had yesterday?
Two sacks and a fourth quarter fumble recovery are Harrisonesque.

He did have a nice game but one sack was where Dalton tried to avoid Spence and Moats got that mop up type sack. Fumble recovery was nice but he didn't cause the fumble I think Dalton was running a read option and lost it on the rb's hip. Moats can flip sides seen him do that at camp so his value is there in that aspect but he is a back up olb as he doesn't have great pass rush moves and he's only okay against the run. Solid vet and I'm glad he contributed to the win that we badly needed but he is not all that.

Moats signed a one year deal...I'd much rather see him back than Worilds at this point...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

He did well against the run also.

            He forced the second fumble.

Given the salaries that both are likely to command, that's an easy call. Moats now has 4 sacks to 4.5 for Worilds.

we never hear from the ones who said woirlds was unfairly sat and got all these pressures on the QB in his limited snaps

I guess maybe his snaps were limited for a reason

Clearly a man that senile has to go in the offseason.

If you look hard enough, you can probably find a quote where LeBeau says that Ike is the best cover man on the team as well...

Not really...an NFL starting QB plays roughly 60-90 snaps per game on average, which includes running plays...some variance in there of course...

Depending upon how many snaps a defender plays, that could be roughly 2 sacks every 3 games for Moats and Harrison, which is pretty good...

2 sacks every 6 games for Worilds, which is not as good...

Jason Worilds is having a pretty good season. Sacks don't tell the entire story. He does get his share of pressures and he has been strong sealing off his side of the field, against the run after a shaky start. He hasn't played outstandingly or gotten to the QB as much as expected or earned a big contract, but Worilds is still a good player. He can still get better. I think he is physically talented but tends to have a motor that runs sometimes hot and sometimes lukewarm. Fans in general tend to view players in a superficial and short term context.

Moats is playing well and I think he has been a good addition. He was not a highly regarded signing, meaning prior to this season he was thought of in lesser terms than Worilds. This shows that players can always adjust, adapt and continue to improve. Worilds can do the same. If he and his agent wanted big bucks before the season and thought Worilds would play himself into that kind of contract, it didn't happen. But if they can sign him to a reasonable contract, I would be all for him staying in the system.

There are people who rode Timmons mercilessly like he was a bad player. Right now he is more consistent than ever and is the best player on defense. Same type of emergence for Worilds can happen. I don't quit on players I think are talented.
