Dulac just said that Jason W the best pass rusher that the team have, dropped into coverage 30percent of the time this year. And Sunday he only dropped back 4 times and had his better game.

So, Worilds has rushed the passer on 70% of dropbacks and has 4.5 sacks to show for it....why are we upset with LeBeau?

Worilds has played in 12 games, but only has two and a half more sacks than Jarvis Jones...

All LB's play coverage at different times in the defense. Doesn't seem that dropping into coverage 30% of the time is a lot.

30% is more than average, but it doesnt justify 4.5 sacks. 2 of which came unblocked. Scheme alone is responsible for 45% of Worilds sack total. Seems LeBeau isnt the party to blame where Worilds is concerned, unless you believe scheme should produce more than 2 sacks per individual in 12 games.

I dont consider JW the teams best pass rusher. Harrison at age 57 will still be a better pass rusher than JW. Linebackers are asked to drop in coverage from time to time in every defense. I would think 30% is a little high. But based off of how poorly our secondary has played, Im really not surprised our OLBs are being asked to cover more.

The problem is when you blitz, and dont get there you expose your secondary. So what is a coach to do? When you cant get good pressure, do you continue to expose your secondary? Or do you play more guys in coverage so you dont get burnt every play. Lebeau is damned if he does, damned if he dosent.

I agree. I would however send the OLB's at least 85% of the time. Change the reads a little bit for them. At least with the chance of pressure we are more likely to make a play. The CB's are getting burned anyway.

Lamar Woodley played the same defense and dropped into coverage.

Often times the offense motions into formations they know will move pass rushers in base defenses out.

Worilds isn't getting it done, not b/c of "DICKEY" .... come up with some new material ya Ding Dong!!!

The secondary is getting torched anyway. So, blitz like we did against Indy and RatsII and let the chips fall where they may. Play aggressive on both sides of the ball.

The way Colbert has been going with his signings he is likely to up the ante on his previous too high of an offer. Worilds is as bad as Woodley

Heard on Sirius NFL Radio that the Steelers blitz on 3rd down 34% of the time. 42% last year, 51% the year before.
