I swear, some people CAN NOT give these coaches credit for anything.
    Or the players.

Give me play makers over coaching any day. Of course, it's a team game. Of course coaches are involved. Saying it's just "adjustments" is ignoring the play on the field.

The topic of the thread is Bell is HUGE. Not adjustments were HUGE!

In a case like that, it's up to Haley to give Ben viable options...it's up to Ben to read the D and call the right play...then, the players have to do their jobs...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

Terrific post. Ben called audibles that worked.

Actually, they were calling two plays in the huddle, at least, that's how it appeared to Gruden and then Ben would make a pre-snap read and signal into the second play if he felt it was the better option.

and we all know Ben designed every one of those plays all on his own...hell, i heard he designed them IN the huddle.

I can just see him drawing up the play in the dirt.

BR7: "Okay, guys...I'm this stick. Antonio...you are this pebble. LeGarrette...you are this dog turd."

LB27: "Screw this...I'm hitting the showers early."
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Oh don't get me wrong...I like Haley. He is the only coach on this team that I like. But, to give a coach credit for "designing a play" for a run to the outside...doesn't seem like a stretch of his offensive guruiness. So, I like the fact that Ben looked and read the D correctly and called the correct audible. That certainly had zero to do with Tomlin or LeBeau.

                      Alex Kozora @Alex_Kozora -

Since 1960, Le'Veon Bell is just the 9th Steeler to have 33+ carries in a game. Franco only did it once in his career. #Steelers

Since 2000, this is only the 5th time a #Steelers RB had at least 33 carries in a game. Last time was in 2010.

On the Steelers: More carries no concern for Le'Veon Bell

                        November 20, 2014
By Ed Bouchette / Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Le'Veon Bell carries against the Titans in the first quarter at LP Field in Nashville Monday night, November 17, 2014.

Le’Veon Bell showed Monday night he was willing and able to carry the Steelers to a victory.

Now his coaches will pile more on those shoulders.

“We’ll take all he can give and we’ll give all he can take,” said offensive coordinator Todd Haley.

Bell gave them 33 carries, 204 yards and two receptions for another 18 yards Monday night, and they needed all of it to come from behind by 11 points to beat the Tennessee Titans, 27-24.

Ben Roethlisberger was the only other Steeler with any carries because he scrambled three times for 2 yards. Bell’s was the fourth-best rushing day in franchise history.

Tuesday morning, the Steelers cut his veteran backup, LeGarrette Blount, and the only backs behind him are two rookies with little and no experience, along with fullback Will Johnson.

As important as Bell was to the offense Monday, he could become more valuable heading into the final five games after the off week. He already has 252 touches (195 runs and a team-record 57 catches for a halfback) and could finish with nearly 400 before the regular season ends.

He said he can handle it.

“I don’t really feel pressure. This is what I trained for. I didn’t feel fatigued in the game or tired. As long as I continue to work and train as I’ve been, I’ll be fine.”

Bell leads the AFC with 951 yards rushing and with 1,435 yards from scrimmage (rushing plus receiving). He said he trained before this season so he would be in good shape to carry such a load and looks forward to it.

“My approach won’t change. I’m going to go out there and play my heart out like I usually do. Whatever the team asks me to do, I’m going to try my best to do it.

“I’ve been training this whole offseason, enough where if I don’t have to come out of the game, I’ll still be energized, I can finish the fourth quarter, I don’t feel fatigued or tired. I’ll continue to work at that in practice.”

Bell said he talked to Blount after he was waived Tuesday and that his “close friend” is “doing good. He’s not in the best mood ever, but he understands he made a mistake.”

“It’s unfortunate what happened. But it is what it is. He made his decision. Obviously I still wanted him here, but there are some things you can’t do. He pushed those buttons, and that’s what happens.”

Haley said they will go with rookies Dri Archer and Josh Harris as Blount’s backups and won’t be afraid to use them. Mike Tomlin said they are not looking to bring any other back in right now.

Archer, drafted in the third round from Kent State, has eight carries for 41 yards and another five receptions for 4 yards. He has one punt return for 2 yards and long ago lost his main kickoff-return duties after returning nine kickoffs for only a 17.9-yard average.

“We haven’t had an opportunity to really use Dri, which I know has probably been frustrating to him,” Haley said. “But it may give us an opportunity to get him in there a little more even in non-situational spots. He can run inside and out and he’s shown us that from day one.

“The thing with him is if you give him a crease, he can take it all the way. I know he’s excited about the opportunity, Josh is excited and we’ll see what they got.”

But the brunt of the running game, as well as a big part of the passing game since he is the second-leading receiver, falls on Bell’s shoulders.

“He’s been good to this point,” Haley said. “It’s good to be young again. He has a bounce in his step when everybody else is dragging around after a game. He has energy. We’ll give him what he can take.”

                        Bring it on, Bell said.

“I’m not really worried about how many carries I get or anything, I just want to make sure we win the game. So if I need 50 carries to win the game, I’m going to get it. If I only get eight carries and we win the game, I’m fine with that. I just want to make sure we go out there and win the game; that’s the main thing for me.”

One of the coaches said he has an insane amount of energy.

He was running as hard as weve seen him the other night. He seems to be balancing his patience, speed, and power
