    OT: NE at it Again

Watching the IND-NE game and NE is absolutely mugging the IND WRs and getting no calls. Steeler DBs do the same thing and it would be a flag palooza.

That play where Revis and another player kept pinballing Hilton until he fell was the worst of them.
If I spell a word incorrectly or make a grammar mistake, I apologize. English is not my native language.

Steelers fans complaining about a team that plays hard-nosed defense?

I hope Mel Blount doesn't read this board.

To be fair, both teams were doing it. The refs seemed to be letting these things slip today.

Not complaining about a team playing hard-nosed defense...complaining about the double standard that allows one team to play hard-nosed defense while penalizing the bejeezus out of the Steelers...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

Have you checked the penalty statistics for this year?

Going into last night's game the Patriots were the most penalized team (by yardage). Steelers are heavily penalized too, about 100 yards less so far this year than the Pats.

And it was a prime time game - I have a feeling there are less flags thrown for those games, but I don't have any stats to support that.

No doubt that things appear more egregious in a prime time game...

It depends on the officiating crew. Some guys call everything, some call nothing, most are in between. What is shameful is that announcers will generally cover for the league and not call out these missed calls.

Another thing the Patriots are "at" again, is burying an opponent. Remember that when the Steelers are still trying to "establish the run" and get back to "Steelers football" tonight in a close, 4th quarter game against another bottom feeder.

In two of the last three games the Steelers had six TD passes in each game. They did not try to establish the run. Or maybe they did but didn't obsess over it. In those two games they did try to bury the opponent. Why do people try to predict what will happen in a game when they have no idea?

Because they think they are smarter than everyone else or they are merely trolls...

Yes, they got praised for those "out of character" game plans, too, and then reverted to turtle ball against the Jets and by all accounts, plan to again tonight. All the talk this week has been about getting the running game back in a groove.

How about trying to bury the opponent until they give up? Is that not Steelers Football (tm)?

If you're facing the 29th ranked rush D, how is attacking an opponents' weakness not a good plan?

As long as they don't stick with it to a fault. This OL isn't good enough to line up against anyone and run when they know they're running.

The Titans will stick 8 in the box from the start.

when has Steeler football been about burying your opponent until they give up?

we have always been a team that turtles once we are up by 10 points.
