There were a lot of people who said that if he lost his job here he would never get another job in the NFL.

Because in one defense you aren't converting Def Tackles to Def Ends (to occupy blockers), Def Ends to OLBs, and OLBs to ILBs. You always want to ignore that the conversion projects take time and are risky propositions as we have seen with our inability to be successful doing that and developing any depth in our front seven

The Cardinals are using conversion projects to run their 3-4...

We must have the wrong person in charge of the defense then who has clearly been failing for several years with player development.

You can do a ton of stuff on defense when you have 2 young plamakers at DB.

..and they also have a dome stadium that is loud as hell. I wish our Stadium design did a better job capturing the noise of the fans.

Hopefully if they close in the open end of the field that will help, but that should be part of "Stadium Design 101" not a pretty view. The view should be on the field not outside the football stadium. Baseball fields are different and the design of PNC is on the mark.

pretty sure that open end has been responsible for some FG misses by opponents...

I think they could achieve better results if they added metal panels to the top of the stadium to bounce the sound around...

Why did the Cardinals sign old as dirt Larry Foote and also wanted to sign older than dirt James Harrison and Brett Keisel?
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Yeah, with Peterson and Cro out there they can play as aggressive as they want. They arent perfect corners but they can sure as hell compensate for mistakes and stay with anyone

Adding those three thousand seats to the open end could go a long way in helping us with the added noise level.

So again we apparently have some who believe that our "legendary," Hall of Fame Defensive Coord who is lauded far and wide as a genius becomes a deaf mute during the evaluation of potential draft picks and is not allowed to speak in the draft room. Just a victim of other's shortcomings. That is so laughable. The reality is if our defensive coord was 48 years old and not 78 there would not be the level of tolerance for the decreasing performance of our defense over the past 3-4 years and the failure to develop players on that side of the ball. But hey, we have a Def Coord who tells a mean "Twas the Night Before Christmas" during the holidays. Why worry about sacks and INTs when you have that.

Stop acting like building a defense cant be cyclical. Players who were in the prime of their career all around the same time are either gone or widely referred to now as the old guys on the defense. There have been some set backs, Hood and Worilds in particular but overall the defense, while not like the 2008 group is still a work in progress. They kept a superbowl roster together as long as they could and now its a time where they have to transition to almost an entirely new starting defense

Its a flip flop of 2005 right now with the offense and defense....offense was young, inexperienced, and really just not that great but the defense was ready to go and playing at a very high level, high enough to carry the team.

Like I said, if the def coord was 48 would he be getting the pass that LeBeau gets for a defense that has been consistently declining for 3-4 years? Be honest...you know he wouldn't. We don't give off cords one season here without calling for their heads if they aren't perfect. If that is classified as "hatred" by some as a easy way not to discuss the issue then keep taking the easy way out.
