When they win nothing is said, when they lose he is gutless. But we forget the last two weeks he went for it on 4th down and passed it it was brilliant then now he's gutless. They needed a field goal anyways I had no problem with it one way or the other because we had a whole quarter to go.http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/2...eelers2010.jpgComment

The Qb was playing like **** already and you would go for it with the whole 4th quarter ahead. Lolhttp://img525.imageshack.us/img525/2...eelers2010.jpgComment

No, I want a team that can get 2 yards inside the 10 yard line. I don't think that should be too much to ask from a line with that has multiple first and second round draft choices on it. And it's a risk/reward proposition. A TD there has the potential to swing the entire feel/momentum of the game. What's wrong with being bold? Worked last week against the Rats - as soon as the offense started producing you could see the visible change in the way the D stepped it up. Don't get it and you've got them pinned on the 5. If your D can make a stop you'll get the ball back at mid-field.
I think kicking the FG there shows a coach who's playing it safe and is afraid to take a risk.sigpicComment

So you think having a linebacker who admitted he'd never taken an offensive snap in his career was a smart choice to bring in? A player that the QB doesn't even believe is supposed to be on the field? Why can't they get 1 yard? You want to Monday morning a play action pass on 1st down with our QB who is coming off back to back games that no one in the history of the game has done so be it. That is what this forum is for. You don't like the coaches play calling we get it. Your opinion is the coaches are afraid we get it. So what that we do not agree..... this forum would not be as good as it is if everyone agreed on everything.sigpicComment

And since we did have a QB coming off back to back games that no one in the history of the game has done before (your words) why not bring the O out to start the game after winning the toss. The O is and clearly has been the strength of this team. Why not give them the ball to start the game and get it going? You want to Monday morning a play action pass on 1st down with our QB who is coming off back to back games that no one in the history of the game has done so be it. Steelers deferred against Baltimore and scored 40+. Lost the toss vs. Indy (who took the ball) and the Steelers scored 50+. Not sure the coin toss really mattered that much. And since we did have a QB coming off back to back games that no one in the history of the game has done before (your words) why not bring the O out to start the game after winning the toss. The Pats came off a 40 pts performance and defered against Payton. Teams do it all the time. In fact Tulnch said on the radio that offensive minded teams prefer it because it gives them a chance to get back in a game o put them away in the 3rd.http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/2...eelers2010.jpgComment

The results after the toss aren't really what people are taking issue with. What many (myself included) are questioning is why put your worst unit on the field to start the game? if you get the opportunity and the Steelers did by winning the toss, why not put Ben and the red hot offense on the field? The hope would be to get a drive going and score points, let your defense play with the lead rather than put them out there and hoping they don't concede points. Never this year has the defense been so good that you get the feeling that they were able to stop the other team consistently, IMHO.

And yet, the defense did an admirable job against the Jets for the most part...if the offense had turned the ball over one less time, perhaps they are in a position to win...Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.Comment
