There was a call in one of the last few Steeler games that the NFL did say was the right call and backed there ref. Oh it was the AB TD that he cussed on twitter about. Plus there are always bad calls in every game. Some just hurt more then others sometimes it helps us. These refs are human and make mistakes. Also I agree that it was a bad call from what I seen on tv. But Ghost's first post sounded like it cost us the game. Not even close.

No it did not. I never even hinted at it costing us the game, simply that it was a ridiculous call that the rules expert even called out as being a bad call.

Well you seemed VERY upset in that first post and I read into it that you figured it effected the out come of the game. It could have turned it around for us by sparking a fire. But not likely yesterday. I think I should have stayed out of this one! I just don't get very upset at the refs. They screw up so some much I am now dull to it I guess.

I understand making mistakes but I don't, and never have understood, what exactly the refs look at during replay review. I've lost count of how many times we've all watched a play where there is absolutely no way the evidence is "irrefutable" and a call still gets over-turned. Or a play like yesterday when there's multiple views of it and they refuse to change it to the correct call. It was as if they didn't want to admit they missed it on the field, evidence be damned. We have amazing technology being wasted by idiocy. I find it frustrating, even in non Steelers games.

But I'm 100% with you on the thought that if a team doesn't want the refs to dictate outcome, then don't put yourself in a position where one possible missed/bad call can have that much influence on the outcome.

Well I guess that is why I am so dull to the refs now. To much idiocy. But also I hate to "argue" when I don't have a NFL rule book. Some of these rules are not as cut and dry as they should be. So there is a bunch of pressure on the refs in game and they have to know the letter of the rule. Some times not as easy as it looks I bet. Oh also the announcers do not have any more of a clue then us most times so I don't hold there info to high. Oh another point was the guy saying he would have called it a fumble. How did he have time to look at it as close and all the angles as the ref under the hood? So I did not pay much attention to his thought.

Mike Pereira said it was close, but he'd not overturn it.

I did some screenshots from NFL Gamepass (didn't post the whole images because they were too big):

Here you can see his fingertips holding the ball: http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1600x900q90/537/QboRBQ.png

Before the shin hit the ground: http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1600x900q90/537/SbHUZO.png (you can see his fingertips under the ball, meaning he lost control)
When the shin hit the ground: http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1600x900q90/912/LGLytS.png (here you can see his fingertips more clearly)

If that's Ben Roethlisberger, that would have been determined a fumble...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

Ball looks out on this last one...

you have to have control and I doubt he was controlling the football with his palm exposed like that.
