WTF? - for those who missed it (answers)

The team came out conservative on both sides of the ball.
    - The team ran straight into the only strength of the Jets -the DL
    - The team ran and PASSED between and inside the tackles! The Jets team whole weakness was corners - why we kept dinking 3 yd passes to Bell / Brown standing next to a DL?
    - Haley totally forgot short quick passes that beat teams whose strength is DL...where were 3,5 step posts, slants, whatever???? How did we beat Balt?
    - Didn't use heath till AFTER halftime
    - Ben misread and through into double, triple, 4x coverage
    - Ben and WHOLE TEAM loafed and acted like it was Q1 when there was 8 minutes left.... supposed hurry up STILL didn't get plays off fast 8,10,12 seconds left.
    - Lastly, A Brown forgot to apply his legendary prep for this game. He made many ROOKIE mistakes.

On D, nearly WHOLE D was in REM sleep mode Q1.
    - Team pushed backwards consistently
    - On TD to amaro, 8 COUNT THEM 8 drop back, Jets run 4....and mitchell is one on one w/ TE and is so slacking that he gets 2 feet in before being shoved.
    - QB vick isn't punished / hit (good) till Q4
    - Gay dropped easy int and as a team stood back and just took punch after punch...
    - shoot, as mad as I am about D, hell, they actually fared ok compared to position offense kept leaving them.
    - end arounds, harrison makes harvin go wide (Almost gets him) and NO ONE is home...like everyone just says "oh yeah, player x will tackle him..."

    Coaching and Refs.....F for both.
Tomlin w/ no balls to go 4th and kicking 23 yd FG....yeah I know mathmatics BUT THIS TEAM NEEDED A SCORING LIFT only a TD would give. THEN Squishhy blows it- POS
Tomlin clock mgmt. / teams hurry up!

refs, besides terrible terrible Vic fumble NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT PASS INTERFERENCE On BRYANT on goal line that was bounced for INT. The Jets defender hits bryant BEFORE ball gets there and player is NOT going for ball. Its 1st and goal (should be)
But that said, the only reason the jets defender is keyed on him (bryant) is because tomlin / haley, you f ing idiots, are running the same play, the same damn play as last week vs Balt!!!!!!! Duh the kmart corner the jets got just watched it and knows the kid only knows 30% of the playbook!!!!
of course, just look at heyward recovery of vick fumble - a joke ..enuff said.
Right there, is anywhere from 6 to 10 pts.

Its a sickening effort and flat out embarrassing, other than Harrison, Decastro, Heyward...I don't think anyone gave a notable effort.

I hold the offensive line accountable for this one. The Jets pass rush was the difference.

It's simply yet ANOTHER instance of Tomlin not having this team prepared when facing ONE Of the VERY worst teams in the league. We have a long trend of witnessing this. It should come to no one's surprise. I started a thread on it last week.

That was not pass interference on Bryant. The ball was tipped. Once the ball is tipped there is no pass interference. I had to explain the same thing to my wife. Great play on the DBs part to take Bryant out of the play after the tip.

Cant put this one on Tomlin. The theme of the whole week was taking care of business against teams you are supposed to beat. Jets made plays. Steelers didnt. This ones on the players.

I'll say this once and then watch the board melt down all week and won't comment any further until later.

            2 things.

1- 4 turnovers (no team in the league will win many with 4 TO's)
2- #7 had a bad game. It happens.

            OK. 1.2.3. Melt down......lol

I will also say this.... AB was all over FB last night showing his shopping trip to NYC and hanging out w/ Burress... These guys are grown men, but come on.... the night before the game? Unacceptable.

Maybe next time, Tomlin ought to make AB hold on to a football all night before the game.

For those looking to blame the coaches on not preparing the team I believe somehow we are sidestepping the fact that it's clearly a lack of execution. I'm with 7 Up this one is on the players.

The Jets hadn't scored opening drive points all season and ripped the D with ease. They were up 10 before a turnover occurred. The Steelers opening drive was horrendous. The overall gameplan was trash. Jets have allowed 24 passing TDs, most in the league and the Steelers run into the line and screens to backs that are covered.

The players were awful today but I'd give the entire coaching staff an F as well. And this is a recurring theme. If it was the first time then yeah, coaches get a pass and move on to the Titans. But it's cost them the playoffs 2 years running.

7 up - your wrong. Watched it 5 times, never tipped. The defender went THRU Bryant (and made no attempt at catch, just preventing catch). He arrived early, sorry your blind. So in your football universe, if a player first tips the ball but knocks down receiver / target - its clean....hmmm seems like the zebras been calling it wrong for years.
The only time, a DB has been granted the luxury of making contact (PRE)reception is if he is going for the ball for a catch.

NOTE he (DB) spins MB around with hands all over him, he is not attempting a catch in any way, he is strictly making hard contact to break up the pass and he was EARLY- PENALTY

You seem to forget last week's game started pretty much the same way. And what happened? The players started to execute and Haley was a genious. If not for McCain's fumble recovery one has to wonder how that Raven's game really turns out....

DB got to Bryant just as the ball did. It was clean. Once the ball was touched the DB wrapped up Bryant and took him out of the play(which is legal) and the ball was intercepted. The DB did not get there early and any contact after the ball was touched is legal. Your wrong, look it up.

Quesition is -- why was Bryant coming *in* when the outside was totally open? That was just a boneheaded play call and boneheaded play all around.

Thought the same thing when i saw it live. After the replay the DB made a nice play while Bryant tried to cradle the ball thinking it was an easy score.
