Jets with all corners having little or no experience will likely be in 3 deep shell at least until we're in red zone. Trying to keep everything in front and hoping we are not patient with taking the underneath options. This is where Bell has done so well for us and I see him catching a bunch of check downs as a result of what their D will likely give us.
Ben praises Haley's recent play-calling

Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.
Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.
We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.
We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.Comment

• Todd Haley, to his credit, took the fall for the Steelers’ miserable early offense against the Jets, which, no coincidence, came via the return of the Sideways & Screens R Us playcalling: “When I say it was a poor performance by us offensively, just like when it’s a good performance, it takes everybody. That goes for me as well. The Jets guessed right a couple of times on screens. We didn’t get the rush we were looking for. I have to be better, too, in that area.”
And then …
“But I think our screen game has been a really good weapon. We had two good ones. One got called back on a penalty that could have gone either way on Maurkice Pouncey. It has been a very good weapon for us, and we have to keep it as a weapon.”
No, actually, you don’t. An analysis this week showed that the Steelers run more screens than any team in the league. Given the real weapons at hand, that’s ridiculous.
Lest anyone think this is one man’s mind over others, it isn’t. Tomlin is entirely on board, from what I heard directly and indirectly. Also ridiculous.

The game plans on O and D belong to the coordinators, but make no mistake, they belong to the head coach as well.
Anyone who thinks that Tomlin doesn't have his fingerprints all over them is deluded.Comment

It was sad to see them resort to the Same Old Steelers vs. the Jets, with the buttoned up, safe game plan. Tomlin said after the Indy game that they knew they had to score a lot of points because Indy could.
Why isn't this the plan every week? Teams like GB, Denver, and NE look to bury teams like this. I can't imagine them telling their red hot QBs that "we're going to play it safe this week - the Jets aren't much of a threat."Comment
