Not much has been mentioned here ,but tonight the Steeler organization will officially retire number 75 in honor of Mean Joe Greene. Greene's number 75 will become just the second number retired, after Ernie Stautner's number 70. The Steelers have had many, many great players, but I feel the retirement of Greene's number is most deserved. Besides the hiring of Chuck Noll, I can't think of a single person more responsible for turning around the Steelers than Greene. They are having a ceremony at half time.I was at the 2002 Monday night when Terry Bradshaw returned to Pittsburgh. I expect tonights atmosphere to be just as electric.

Hoping whoever makes the stadium videos was smart enough to make a Renegade filled only with Joe Greene highlights. Tackles, sacks, punches, kicks, elbows, ending with a coke and a jersey toss, of course.Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.
Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.
We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.
We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.Comment

I would not have missed this game for the world. I'm here in Pittsburgh wearing my throwback #70 Stautner. Turns out that my father couldn't make the trip today because he's in the hospital and couldn't bring the kids because of school tomorrow. I asked a dozen or so people (including my new neighbor who is a freaking Ravens fan) and no one could make it, so I left today around noon by myself. I'll drive home after the game (plenty of sugar, caffeine, and hopefully adrenaline from a big win coursing through my veins and fueling the trip. Plan to go straight to work without sleep since I should arrive home by sunrise.Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.
