CJ Mosley

There were more than a few posters that were high on the guy predraft. Seems the dude got himself into a bit of trouble. Glad the Steelers don't need to deal with this kind of distraction at this point in the season: http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/11760827/cj-mosley-suspended-detroit-lions-sent-back-us-london

I've heard that Mosley the Raven has actually been playing pretty good football.

Yes, he was more NFL ready...more physical....more technically sound. I was higher on Mosley but I think Shazier will turn out to be a really good LBr for us.

I think Mosley leads all rookies in tackles this year. So far he is having a great rookie year.
As many on this site think ... The Rooney's suck, Colbert sucks, Tomlin sucks, the coaches suck, and the players suck.

but Go Steelers!!!

Yup... I still say it was a miss by the team, but, only time will tell. Not that I'm saying Shaz will be bad - I just knew Mosley's leadership qualities AND prefer a guy with better take-on skills in the hole, than where Shaz presently is... having said that, if he can get stronger, his upside is higher than Mosley's.

The Ravens CJ Mosley has been nothing but impressive so far. He is another Raven draft home run. He has become a force, and he's only a rookie. So far, he has exceeded Shazier's production, even if you factor in the injuries. Let's face it: Shazier isn't making many plays at this point. He makes a tackle here and there, but no splash plays, nothing to raise an eyebrow at. Not saying his story has concluded, but so far, Mosley is the far better player.

Shaziers upside is much much higher. Mosely is creating high tackle totals, hes a good run stuffer. Mosely would have been a better pick if timmons wasnt around, but complimenting timmons with shazier is an attempt to put something special, and very unique together.

Shazier needs to stay healthy though

If I have made an erroneous assertion, then refute it. What did I state that wasn't true?

my struggle with the whole situation was the teams inability to stop the run... run stuffer just seemed wiser than someone you could blitz and do "fun stuff" with. they were hoping to find the next "Polamalu" (in that his speed and instincts could be special).... I was just hoping for another Farrior...

Everyone says Shazier's upside is much higher than Mosley's as if just saying so makes it true. Mosley is already playing at a pro bowl level; Shazier is playing below average for an NFL ILB.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/gamelog/_/id/16727/ryan-shazier

Really, nothing of any substance.

Now, CJ is already making a big impact. Why is his upside lower than Shazier's? Just because we can say it? Shazier is faster, and....? CJ makes more tackles, with his slower speed, so how much does a 40 time mean if it doesn't lead to more production? When I watch Pgh's D, Shazier makes a tackle here and there - nothing that jumps out. Mosley, on the other hand, is all over the tv screen. Ozzie Newsome's approach is to take that sure double, over trying to swing big for the fences. It's a strategy that is certainly working out for Balt.

http://www.nfl.com/player/c.j.mosley/2543464/profile

Actually, if CJ outplays Shazier it could decide who wins this week's game. Wouldn't that be something.
