To keep things in perspective, the Steelers last Superbowl year the league average # of penalties/gm/team was just over 6. In 2014 at the quarter point, average # penalties/gm/team = 6.8 or 15% greater.

In terms of yds, avg # penalty yds/gm/team in 2013=50; 2014=59 nearly 20% increase.

So it's not just the Steelers.. it's the league.

you guys do know that since we have more superbowl wins than any other team, it does the league no good financially for us to win anymore?? they make more money if other teams win Superbowls because our fanbase brings in revenue regardless..

there is a bias against the steelers.. straight up

we hardly get calls going our way for the last several years.. remember that bogus game a few years ago against the Giants in NY?? that game was blatant.. this league pushes certain teams for revenue.. the Saints got alot of calls go their way the year they won. (bountygate) withstanding.

Last year, Seattle had the most penalties (152) for the most yardage (1415) in the league. They won the Super Bowl, beating Denver, which had the second most penalties (132) for the third most yardage (1128) in the league.

The year before that, Baltimore had the most penalties (145) for the most yardage (1315) in the league. They won the Super Bowl, beating San Francisco, which had the third most penalties (126) for the second most yardage (1103) in the league.

Damn undisciplined champions! Fire those coaches!

Normally I get a big laugh out of conspiracy theories and their convoluted connections to reality. In this case, I am not so quick to dismiss it given the number of untruths coming from the league office in the last few years.
