    OFFENSIVE Coordinator

Can someone please explain to me why we need this guy calling plays. This team plays like a sandlot bunch so why not draw the plays in the dirt like we used to do. ( Forgot there is no dirt now! ) Watching different games yesterday and seeing really explosive and up beat calls, I am really sad to see how far we are falling behind the rest of the league

There was much rejoicing when he arrived. Or maybe the rejoicing was because Arians was gone and anybody but Arians was cause for rejoicing? What happened to the "But Haley is keeping Ben upright and lengthening his career" gambit? Do you want to see less of the quick release and more of the long bomb?

    It's always something.

Not defending Haley but the OC imo only have had 2 bad games. That being yesterday and against the Ravens. I don't like the predictable early screens but he does incorporates things that make it look like a screen that end up going down field for big plays. But yesterday was horrible. I didn't see anything brilliant, it almost looked like he was sabotaging the team.

I take that back, the last drive was brilliant.

I think ben was nursing a sore hand from hitting it on a helmet last week. But for christ sake they played to win the game

He's terrible. The Jags were rushing four and dropping seven, so he runs Bell and Blount a mere 23 times. Should have been twice that.

The Steelers' players have to overcome their own coaches more than most teams, and they don't have the talent to pull it off this year.

First red zone appearance, 1st and 5. Three straight shotgun passes, we end up kicking from the 10. Why do Bell and Blount never see the ball in the red zone?

Off Coord for the Steelers is the most criticized job in the BFL and usually without merit. Arians was supposedly horrible here but goes to Indy and takes a rookie QB and the worst team in the NFL to the play offs. Then gets a Head Coaching job and just misses the play off last year and has one of the best records in the NFL with no real QB. Haley takes the Cardinals to the Super Bowl and has a very good offense in KC but apparent crossing the Allegheny and Monongahela causes amnesia when it comes to coaching offense. The real problem has and remains an inconsistent offensive line. I don't care how many how draft choices they have, although no one complains when we spend high choices on defense, it is about how they do the job.

First 2 drives in my household went something like this (me and my predictions): "screen... Check, but, i'll give him that, it was to Dri... Draw... Check... Catch the ball Wheaton... <punt>... Screen... Check... Draw... Check. Screen... oh, he fooled me, he ran another draw... OK 3rd and 4, if this is a screen, I'm just not watching...screen... Honey, let's go." (Probably missed a screen or draw in my recap, but, you get the point).

While I wasn't the biggest fan of Arians, I didn't dislike him. I like that he was willing to use the tools he had instead of trying to tailor an offense to what HE wanted. When you have Mike Wallace, you throw it long. If I had any complaint, it was that i thought he should have taken another shot or two down-field each game, purely driven by Mike's speed. Many think Mike packed it up in his contract year - I think Haley packed it up for him.

Haley's Offense is the complete opposite of what *I* wanted. Doesn't do you any good to keep Ben upright if you're losing. I'd rather have 12 amazing games from Ben (with 10 wins, while going 1-3 in the other 4) than 16 bleh games (with 8 wins). First job of the OC is to outscore the other team.

Yea, and they did that yesterday. Even without the pick 6 by the D. I don't care if the score is 3-2, as long as we win..

I don't have any MAJOR problems with this offense. I do know that the one screen to AB should've been audibled out of. The CB dropped him for a loss as he knew what was going on.. OK, so examples such as these are minor..

Pleased we are at 3-2 so far.. last year we were 1-4....

Pouncey's poor block and Ben recklessness with the ball in the redzone was equally offensive.

I don't think anyone is mad at our record (well, the Bucs loss still stings) but this O is way too conservative IMO.

12 play drives that end with a punt? C'mon.. we have one of the best WR's in the game and Haley keeps calling these stupid bubble screens.

Ben has always been poor in the RZ.

We need to start running the Hines slant in the EZ.

Funny how low the bar has been dropped during his tenure. PLEASED with 3-2? I'm not.
