One of the reasons I think some have called Tomlin a players coach in the past is he "treats men like men". I don't remember really seeing him chew on a player. I'm sure he has but just don't remember seeing it. With that said, there was a noticeable difference in Tomlin's demeanor with the numbskulls during this game. Some of these "men" act like children and should be treated as such. Moore did indeed shoot back. At least Tomlin was willing to get in his face a bit.
Some players didn't get the memo

Another sloppy, undisciplined game...good thing they were playing the worst team in the league, or they almost certainly would not have been able to pull out a win. Mike will probably have another PC where he talks about the need to cut down on penalties, sharpen their focus, blah blah blah. Hope he actually does something with the team to address these problems, because next up is a hungry Cleveland team.Comment

The Patriots last night racked up 12 penalties for 114 yards. So I guess a team can be sloppy and undisciplined and still win. But not even The Great One can prevent his players from losing their poise and doing stupid things. Flags will fly about once every three plays in today's NFL. Might as well get used to it.Comment

Well, 11 different players caught passes from Ben (5 WR's, 4 RB's, 2 TE's). I think Matt Spaeth was the only active skill player on offense not to catch a pass in that game. I'd say that was a pretty good job by Ben of spreading the rock around to other players not named Antonio or Le'Veon.Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.
Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.
We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.
We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.Comment

..and we scored 10 freaking points vs the worst D in the NFL.Well, 11 different players caught passes from Ben (5 WR's, 4 RB's, 2 TE's). I prefer Broan and Bell and 27 points vs 11 different players getting us 10 points.Steelers 27

The fumble was a big one, but the offense moved the ball well there and were looking at points and they could have had points on the last drive the way they were moving the ball but it was a kneel down situation.
I know its easy to what if, but the while they left some points on the field they didnt really have much trouble against the jax defense despite ben having an off day
Glad its not as black and white as "offense needs to protect defense" as i thought the last few weeks...defense stepped up, thats encouraging. Not every game is perfectComment
