Once the Qb start to get comfortable, with no fear of a pass rush or real blitz, it will continue. Rushing 4- 5 players is not a blitz when6-7 are blocking ....see KC game Monday, those are real blitzes.

Really 1 minute left and they have one timeout and we have the lead, run shouldn't be on the table? Run is probably the first thing you are thinking in that spot! Ben read the D, made the right call, and bucs made a play, it happens. Its easy to play arm chair offensive coordinator when you have the luxury of hindsight.

Roethlisberger explained run-pass option on 3rd and 5 better. Said only pass is if Heath was uncovered. Happened earlier in game for 19 yds

Cant be! Everyone knows Todd Haley called a run because he is gutless! No offensive coordinator would ever run the ball to burn a teams timeouts, ever!!! Everyone knew that the punt would get shanked and that the unstoppable bucs offense lead by Mike Glennon would go almost 50 yards in 40 seconds with no timeouts for td against our defense!!! It was so obvious Todd!!

Adam: I heard what Tomlin said about the third down play on the final offensive possession (it was a run pass option that worked before in the game), but how do you not allow Ben to make a play and pick up a first down?

Gerry Dulac: I'm not going to argue. You pay him $100 million for a reason. Put the ball in your star's hands.

                Situational football.

You are trying to run the clock down, keep the young D off the field as long as possible. Run on 3rd down was a good call- if not THAT run play.

That said, plays 1 & 2 should have been run too.

The clock would have run down, you barrel straight ahead. I know a lot of you will say "The Bucs sold out to stop the run"...well, we couldn't ever run on the vaulted Panthers D either, until we could. Even if after 3 runs they still needed to punt, it would have taken more time off that clock. Hate running football as much as you like- it's still our safest, most time consuming unit on the team.

The key isn't necessarily scoring 100 points, it's keeping our D off the field until they learn to be consistant.
The people that are trying to make the world worse never take a day off, why should I?

                Light up the darkness.

If it's a run/pass option, and the option is chosen by the QB, haven't you put the ball in the hands of your $100 million QB?
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

Ya that's what I was thinking too.

Those two words are all you needed to write. Situational football dictated the playcalling in that situation.

Yeah, maybe you to more likely make the first down if you passed instead of run.

But if the pass was unsuccessful, then the opponents have like, a 1:20 to drive down the field instead of just 40 seconds and no timeouts (after what you are hoping will be a halfway decent punt to push them back somewhat).

The team played the percentages here, so I don't have a problem with it. Some times you just roll craps, even though the odds say it's more likely to roll a 7 or 11 than a 2, 3, or 12. It happens.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.
