It wasn't so much deep, as it was hitting a seam and letting WR run wild. The pass itself wasn't all that deep in itself.

Of course you pass based on how the game had gone...Once you throw and get the 1st down then you can run out the clock.....Put the game in Bens hands to win the game.

it's 2014, pass the freaking ball to get a first down.

If we had a defense and it was 1993 it's a no brainer, run 3x and let the D finish it out.
I'm sorry but in 2014 with this team, this HC and DC you have to pass to get a 1st down. We have seen this play out too many times to think our D could stop them.

what is scary is the fact that he had a chance to rectify his 1st mistake and instead, doubled down and did it again. i have to wonder what the hell tomlin is watching.

did he think TB was going to miss on 4 more attempts from the 10?

he has a pretty good seat to see whats going on. to send that defense back out there was criminal

What? You don't make the decision based on stats? It doesn't matter how many yards they had, they had the ball at midfield with 40 seconds needing a td and no timeouts with mike glennon at qb if you don't think your defense can get a stop at that point, the reason for the loss is clearly the defense.

why would he have the confidence think the defense could get a stop there? from anywhere? they are horrible

any thinking person would ask your strongest unit to try and win the game. one 1st down would have done it

                terrible game management, IMO

The coaches played the %'s and didn't win. The offense and defense failed to close out the game.

Exactly asking your defense to stop a td from midfield with 40 seconds and no timeouts is the high percentage play, it just didn't work. Every ones an expert in hindsight. People ask what makes you think they keep the bucs out in that spot? Maybe the fact they kept them out on the drive before?

Or, maybe they weren't expecting the shanked punt...

what gets me if haley had called a pass and it was incomplete and the bucs scored, everyone would be screaming why are you passing in that spot?

Most of the decisions that coaches make are based on the %'s. When people question coaching decisions all they need to do most times is look towards the %'s for guidance. Some people will never understand no matter what facts you present to them. In hindsight, people will always believe the other call was the correct decision if the team doesn't win.

The coaches are always in a no win situation when the team doesn't win.

maybe.. someone always gets the blame in a loss but it would be nice to try and do what you were successful doing all day to close out the game.

That's where I am, and I wanted them to be aggressive and throw for the win. Ben hit on almost 75% of his passes on the day. I prefer those odds and putting the win in his hands and the much stronger unit. He's considered a franchise QB for a reason, and he's one of the best playmaking QBs in the league. That's who I trust the most on this team.
