    Willie Gay...

    ...is now our best DB.
4 yrs ago I would have cried at this thought.

Now he's that savvy veteran guy who plays smart ...
Another note: yesterday I was at the Bills game and they did a blurb on the jumbo tron about Leo dis McKelvin's current playing streak was 2nd in the NFL for a DB ...2nd only to "William Gay of the Pittsburgh Steelers"

Deshea Townsend 2.0 (or maybe the better comparison is Willie Williams, since he left and came back too).
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

I was thinking Deshea myself .... Williams was fast. DT like Gay was a 4.6 guy and steady in coverage.

I don't hear Gay's name a lot... and that is a GOOD thing.

He has made more than one big 3rd down stop this season, though.

Everyone used to blame Gay for everything a few years ago. He is playing good ball IMO. He was a great nickel DB but I think we expected too much of him his first year as a starter.

Good news for Gay ... in today's NFL there are 3 CBs on the field more often ....so he can still play in the slot.

With Ike out, we need him to be a starting outside corner in our base defense too now, not just the slot corner in nickel and dime.
