I Don't Know About You Guys...

...but that was the team I've been waiting to see since halftime of the Browns game...

I knew they were around somewhere...and I hope they stick around for a long, long time...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

I liked the way the defense rebounded and played a solid game against a team that was having success the past few weeks. The Panther offense played into the strength of the Steeler defense, particularly running the ball, they didn't run the stretch much and tried the power running game. The pass rush did a good job of putting Newton under pressure, the Panther OL isn't that good except for the center.

The offense was a bit ragged, IMO, you can't rely on 81 and 50 yard runs for consistency, Ben missed a few easy throws for first downs looking for bigger plays and the scramble and toss to the corner, while a great play isn't something I'd like to see be a staple in the offense.

Overall way better than last Thursday, but still a work in progress and there were three significant injuries, Taylor, Jones and Shazier, Taylor may be done, Shazier is certainly missing some games and hopefully,Jones can rebound from the wrist injury quickly.

Agreed. THAT team just made a lack luster football season for me very interesting. THAT team can play with anyone.

That team, unfortunately, is going to be missing three key components for some period of time, but you're right, with that type of effort they should be able to play with any team, the good teams didn't look all that good this weekend.

Yea, I know, but, do you really want to rely on that? Now, if Ben had been in the pocket and tossed that beauty to the corner and AB makes the catch I'd be a lot more amped about it, but to hope he can make that throw sidearm while sliding to his right consistently isn't something I'd hang my hat on. On the other hand, it was Ben being Ben (as you mentioned) and it was one of the best he's ever made being Ben. That throw was sick in its accuracy and touch. Oh wait, Ben doesn't have any touch and isn't accurate.

we relied on those types of plays his whole career.

I had no idea what was going on because the camera fell for the pump fakes and Ben was lost in traffic.. next thing you know he pops out and throws a tear drop.

Sandlot... he doesn't do it as much but it's still fun to watch.

Not to be Johnny Raincloud but my Question is did we really play that well or did the Panthers over look us?

It looked like he was just throwing it away out the back of the end zone where no defender could get it. When Antonio caught it a la Santonio, I was in awe. Remarkable play all around (including the sick pump fake to the other side that allowed Antonio to get open in the first place).
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

I mentioned it in another thread but two of my favorite moments of the night were Mclendon and Heyward beating Ryan Kalil like a drum on inside power rushes. Kalil is as good as it gets as a center and he got manhandled on those two plays. Both led to huge hits on Newton (can't hit the QB enough).

I loved watching Keisel just walk a tackle back into Newton once or twice, the beard looked pretty good last night, for an old guy.
