    Mike Munchak

The OL looked improved not only to the point of being average, but tonight they looked special, especially considering the quality of the front 7 we faced tonight.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

        Munchak's got'em playin!!!

That said, having a bunch of high picks finally playing together with some continuity is paying some dividends.

they did, the first time the Steelers have had 2 RBs both gain over 100yds in game since 10/26/1986 when Earnest Jackson & WalterAbercrombie did it...

Thats 3 good defenses in a row now, I don't think we've given the run blocking ENOUGH credit for what they have achieved.

This OL is light years ahead of 2 years ago, a fair way ahead of last year.
The people that are trying to make the world worse never take a day off, why should I?

                Light up the darkness.

DeCastro, Gilbert Digest Players of Week

                  by Bob Labriola
                  Steelers.com

The right side of the Steelers offensive line created holes for the running game all night

Le’Veon Bell rushed for 147 yards on 21 carries, including an 81-yard burst in the second half. LeGarrette Blount finished with 118 yards on 10 carries, plus a touchdown, and he had a 50-yard run. In all, the Steelers rolled up 264 yards rushing, and they had another 196 yards passing.

That was a very impressive total, and when combined with only one sack allowed – which came in the first half – it indicates a very strong performance from the offensive line. Each of the starting offensive linemen – Kelvin Beachum, Cody Wallace, Maurkice Pouncey, David DeCastro, and Marcus Gilbert – made contributions on Sunday night against the Panthers.

But because it seemed as though the biggest hunks of rushing yards were gained behind the right side of the offensive line, David DeCastro and Marcus Gilbert are the Steelers Digest Players of the Week.

Also considered were: Bell, who ended up with 157 total yards from scrimmage; Blount, who took safety Thomas DeCoud on a 5-yard ride on his touchdown run; Antonio Brown, who caught 10 passes for 90 yards and two touchdowns; Ben Roethlisberger, who completed 22-of-30 for 196 yards, with two touchdowns, no interceptions, and a rating of 112.6; and Cam Heyward, who played well even if he didn’t accumulate gaudy statistics.

Yes, Frenchy Fuqua's Famous Longest record has bit the dust!

Yeah, who stole our OL and replaced them with world beaters?? Was that you, Mr. Munchak?

In a game where you could have easily given it to several other players with gaudy stats, this is a great call for the PoW.

Actually, Bell's 81 yard run was the longest since Fuqua's 85 yard run back in 1970, so nothing has officially bitten the dust (except for the widely-held belief that our OL sucks, of course).

IT was a great game by the Oline (as fine as I have seen in 35 years of watching Steelers football). Tough to reconcile the line's play against Baltimore with last night's. Hopefully, they are growing and gelling at the right time.
Even if Bill Belichick was getting an atomic wedgie, his face would look exactly the same.
