I have to believe we have the answer for Cam Newton with R Shazier. Rookie has a good game and the Steelers win as a result.

I'm as big a Steeler homer as anyone but I just do not see the Steelers winning this one. Panthers 34 Steelers 10.
Obviously the standard is the standard.

So, thinking the Steelers win means you are a homer?
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

We will play well tonight, our offense can move the ball, we have playmakers. Their offense is far from explosive and actually presents a pretty good matchup for our defense. I think we win 23-16

Until this team can show any semblence of ability to stop the run and pressure the passer, I have no reason to believe they suddenly will. I don't think Carolina's offense presents that great of a challenge...for most competent NFL defenses. Unfortunately, we don't have one of those right now.

As far as the offense goes, they are going to be challenged by a better defense than the one that shut them down last week. I still think that our offense has the capability to score on anyone, but we have not been able to put it together in the last 6 quarters. I wonder how much that Upshaw hit impacted Ben's performance against the Rats and I wonder if there might be any lingering impact, given the pain he was describing on Monday.

If our offense can find it's groove, we have a chance to outscore them and pull out a road win. I think we need to score at least 28 points to do that.

I'm just hoping we don't get embarrassed on prime time national TV for the 2nd straight week.

100% agree. If it is another massacre, I doubt they will schedule us much more in prime time, except what is already scheduled and written in stone. Unless, of course, Goodell ...

You think we are going to embarrass ourselves in back/back weeks?

I don't have a good feeling about the game either, but it is only Week 3. The guys on the team know they have to step up this week because they still hold their season's destiny in their hands. They also have the 0-4 start from last year, fresh in their minds.

It feels like a Steelers loss, but they're going to have to play hard and tough.
I wasn't hired for my disposition.

I see the Pgh O being ripped to pieces.

The D will start off respectable, but with the O making so few first downs and so little TOP, the D eventually will get worn down to the point of Car. being able to run right down Pgh's throat. I see the final being somewhere around 27 to 9. Ben might not make it through this game. I see Kelvin Benjamin having 5 grabs for 92 yards. Cam Newton going 22 of 30 for 265 yards and rushing for another 35 yards. By games end, Mike Tolbert will get some carries in garbage time.
Bet the house on the Panthers then.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Do you really think they have a clue to fixing the defense knowing they will continue to do the same old thing because it worked 8 years ago? You have more faith than I do.

If you hang onto the notion of the 4-3 long enough...odds are you will be "proven right". I could care less if it's 4-3, 3-4, 5-2, 46 or whatever scheme they want to come up with. The fact is this the Steelers don't do well with 3 men's hands on the ground or 4 as proven this year. A switch in the overall scheme isn't going to help this sorry D. They need for young talent to develop quickly...and they need an infusion of youth, attitude and excitement on D.
