The NFL is an off-the-field mess right now.

The NFL has reveled in media attention for years, just so happens that now that attention has gone negative. Love is fickle.

Of course this happened. I had him as a sleeper member of my fantasy team. I drafted Ray Rice as well. Any questions?

Budweiser finished its sponsorship to the league today due to these cases (Peterson, Rice, McDonald, Hardy, etc.).
Jerry Jones said "100% of the owners support Goodell", but this was before money was involved. Budweiser was the major sponsor of the league. Now I think Goodell is hanging by a thread.

Now you just need to acquire Adrian Peterson to round out your backfield....and heck, get BigBen as your QB while youre at it

I suspect, though, that the response is overblown.
Jettison the idiots, but honestly, I don't think the fraction of NFL players indulging in idiocy is any greater than the general populace. Regular people just don't acquire that notoreity after we drive drunk, smoke pot, spank our kids, or whatever.

If Dwyer was stupid enough to hit his girlfriend in the midst of all this, I am at a loss for words.

I read somewhere that the incident happened before the draft, charges are just now being brought up. Perhaps that's why we were in no hurry whatsoever to make an offer to him.

Not going to judge Dwyer since we don't have the facts and legal process has to play out but another wake up call in just how quick one can have their life get turned around 180! A lesson for all of us.

You know, it's funny about Goodell "hanging by a thread"...

I heard a brief interview with George Atallah, the NFLPA spokesperson, regarding the various DV incidents players have been involved with recently...it turns out that the NFLPA is planning to appeal Rice's suspension...not because they are defending Rice's terrible actions, but because Goodell bungled everything so badly...

The union thinks it is wrong to impose a suspension and then turn around and increase that suspension based upon the media attention drawn by the incident at a later date...and they have a point....

To paraphrase, he said, "Punishments should not be affected by public opinion." I laughed out loud, because that's Roger's freaking MO...

If the owners have to choose between Roger and the players, I think they'll go with the players....
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.
