    Gilbert is just terrible

Anyone left still saying re-signing Gilbert was a good idea? Ready to admit I was right on that one all along? He is just TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE, THE WORST. A little guy (Dummerville) literally ran him over and he was getting flagged and beat all night long. He is a major one of our biggest problems. You can't win with OT play that bad; it's impossible. The front office and coaching staff screwed this up royally. You have to try to F up this bad. Who thought giving this guy was a smart decision? You got to be Fing kidding me. Do these guys get out of a little clown car to start each day? Now we are going on three years of complete ineptitude with this crew. I have zero faith in their ability to make good decisions, and Gilbert is just one example. We have a collection of clowns running this team. There is no denying that now.

I thought Gilbert played an ok game, excluding his bad plays.

Every time I looked up he was being beat or getting flagged. He is terrible.

Yeah he isn't playing nearly as bad as you say. He got beat on what I remember 3 plays. That's against a guy who is considered on the best.
        Trolls are people too.

He got ran over once, blown by twice and flagged 3x. That's bad.

JH was a very powerful man. He was shorter, but no one would ever say he wasn't a mass of muscle. Dumes isn't as powerful but is a good pass rusher. But his moves isn't to simply run an OT over, but since Gilbert is that weak, he was able to just run right over him. Gilbert is terrible.

I just read Glibert has already given up 4 sacks. Yea, he is a player worth signing to a new deal early. This team is clueless.

We resigned Gilbert and Cortez Allen for about what the ravens are paying Steve Smith and Elvis Dumervil per season. Ugh
Even if Bill Belichick was getting an atomic wedgie, his face would look exactly the same.

Gilbert was lazy before his big contract. Now he's the new woodley. Fat cat.

I thought gilbert has played pretty good, our line is going to get beat from time to time but I think they have been pretty good. If you want to talk about wasted money you should be pointing at Worlids, Troy P, and the worst corner on the planet Cortez Allen.

Has everyone forgotten that Gilbert was a BIG part of David Johnson and DeCastro sustaining knee injuries because he got manhandled and driven into them? I haven't been a fan of his since. I'm not even buying that he has much if any upside to Mike Adams. Both of them are soft. Neither seems to play with any fire, nor are they technically sound.

We have some talent here and there but I'm starting to think that, as a whole, our talent pool just doesn't compare to what other teams are fielding. I think our lack of run defense and pass rush is simply the effect of getting out played man on man. Over the years, other teams tried everything to neutralize our OLB's with no real answer. Tried different schemes for running on our defense. The things that teams are doing now have been tried before, we just had the people in place that beat their people.

Now, we've seen the offense, that I expected to perform like the unit we saw in the first half of the Cleveland game, fall on it's face. We are on a slippery slope, if this team continues to play like they did in their last 6 quarters, they'll be fortunate to see 8-8.

I have not thought well of Gilbert's play. But it looks like he's our RT for the next several years, so I hope the coaches can light a fire in him and he can contribute well.

What has changed? Coaches are the same, scheme is the same. Hint, players have changed, rules have changed.

The Steelers have been drafting speed vs strength. J Jones, R Shazier, S Thomas. Yea, the Steelers are fast on defense, just too weak to stop or tackle the other guys.

Sadly, the NFL has legislated out the kind of football that built the Steelers legacy.... bruising, hard-hitting, intimidating. A team opponents would rather have stayed home against. No longer. Can't hit the QB, can't touch the WRs. Tough to intimidate anyone with those kind of rules working against you.
