A large sack of potatoes? Probably wouldn't get mauled and abused as badly as he has.

Don't worry, the Steelers are hoping this becomes a magical transformation with Gilbert. I mean, wouldn't they have to be wishing. Signing him, keeping some players, starting players that you know are less than suitable is because some or a few in the front office or staff is trying to save face.

I don't know that Mike Adams could be much worse. I'd have them split reps at practice and send a message that his play is unacceptable.

...could say the same about LeBeau and his legendary defense

Oh yes, maybe more so on the defense.

Have we seen any real improvment that was expected to come from Munchak coaching these guys? Gilbert stuck out yesterday and not in a good way.

So another question is are the players up to the task?

There is a lack in players selection and development for this team. It can no longer be denied. There's an elephant in the room and no one in the front office seems to want to speak of it. And when I say front office I mean the two Rooneys. Surly by now Dan and Art have been around enough successful environments to recognize, this staff, this behind scenes productions, procedures is not getting it done.
