LeBeau needed to retire years ago. That D is just sad. I don't understand how one week a Haley O can look like such utter genius and the next a pile of dog $^%&. Tomlin needs to ball up and ask for a new D coordinator after this season. If LeBeau doesn't right this ship, he needs gone.

I agree. This D is horrible.

This is what happens when you keep vets too long because the young heads can't figure out the system in less than 3 years

Just been sayin' but no one would listen. Hasn't been working for three years but it is all the players fault. What are they suppose to do, get rid of 8 players every year on defense so they can keep the coordinator blame free? You coach what you have not what you hope you get in a few years.

To be fair, what these guys have done in the past is irrelevant. It's like talking about all of our rings when talking about this year's team.

Fact is, there is talent on this team. We have 2 1st round and a 2nd round pick starting on the O line, and they looked terrible last night. We (should) have one of the better young LB groups in the league, and other than Timmons and a play or two from Shazier/Jones, they were completely invisible. I don't think Worilds name was called all night.

I don't think the coaching is above criticism here. There's simply no way that Ravens team is that much better than this Steelers team in talent. They are almost mirror images of each other with respect to youth, age, and strengths and weaknesses. Their O line was terrible last year, and they went out and rebuilt it and were blowing our D line completely off the ball with it.

Dunno. I just don't see a situation where the coaching isn't at least part of the problem. Something's definitely very wrong. I just hope they can figure it out, because this team shouldn't be getting outscored 59-9 with the talent they have on the field./

You seem downright gleeful this morning. You've been saying that the Steelers should abandon the 3-4 since before the SB win in the right. Eventually, even a blind squirrel finds a nut.

                in his defense...

this defense has been on the decline for a while. It would be nice to see this D cause havoc so we could have some proof to refute Ovi's concerns.

Ben, Bell, Brown, Wheaton, Miller - that's a ton of talent. A ton that's now gone 6 quarters without a TD. That's inexcusable. I've been a Haley supporter but he's got to take some of the blame here. He's the top dog on the offensive side of the ball. They weren't just bad last night, they were downright pathetic. It's early and I'm holding out hope, but damn, that was hard to watch.

fwiw ben wasnt exactly lighting it up with the no huddle calling his own plays

It sucks theyve been held out of the endzone, but the game turned after JBs fumble and then there was no recovering from the call on mitchell in the endzone.

So even if they scored a garbage TD or two in the 4th and were outscored 50-16 or 50-24, theyd still be 1-1

please define "a while".... top in scoring defense in 2011. That leaves 2012 and 2013 as 'declining'.... can't judge this year until it's over.

Why can't I judge these 2 games? Until they show us they are improving it's declining. 50 points in 6 quarters?

So after 8 minutes gone in the 1st Q the Offense packed it in for the day. If one adverse play early in a game destroys their collective psyche then this season is doomed. I'm happy to have the W but an offense with legitimate talent has looked atrocious for a game and a half out of 2. Players and coaches both share the blame.

Nobody to fix the OL, maybe Tuitt and McCullers can turn things around a bit on the DL.
                                I agree 100%.
McCullers should be activated going forward. If I had to not activate someone Spaeth can sit out imho. Keeping d line fresh and push Thomas,Kiesel and McClendon for playing time. Honestly this rookie could give us a needed boost. Tuitt is a talent but needs time so he should and will get better with reps.
