Are you comfortable with a head coach and DC who get "rattled" during games? I'm not. If you don't think at least PART of the problem is coaching, I don't know what to tell you. I thought, when they showed Tomlin and LaBeue on the sidelines, they looked like deer in headlights, and I was right. They flat out admitted it. Should guys approaching 80-years-old be in a major position, running half of a billion dollar entity? History says no. This will be 3 years in a row that the D is not up to snuff. And our coached are "rattled" on the sidelines. Guess what? You don't make adjustments when you are "rattled" - all you do is panic with indecision, which is what they did. Ben saved us again. How many games will Ben have to try to save us while our coaches are "rattled" on the sidelines? Are we going to be "rattled" tomorrow night in Balt?

One, and it's over and the Steelers won.

Do you ever stop to think, young guys on field first day on job. They were the ones rattled, he uses the "We" cause he is part of the TEAM. You just want to blow so much smoke just to create fire. I think you are just putting these words together to prove your tiring points. But that's just my opinion, just like its your board life purpose.

I have seen several reports that Cleveland was getting plays off before the defenders were even set. D-Linemen were still standing up when the ball was snapped.

I agree that when LeBeau said "we" he was talking about the whole team. He is not the type to say "the players were rattled", so he said "we". Those who have an agenda will of course choose to interpret "we" as meaning "the coaches".

Referring to players on the field being rattled not the sidelines. Other sources I read indicated this was a result of poor communications coming in a timely manner from the defensive staff.

So the players were rattled. Why were they rattled? Obviously, they were NOT PREPARED to face the no-huddle. Why were they not prepared? Who would be in charge of seeing to it that the Steelers' defensive players were prepared?

Why could the defensive staff not get the plays in in a timely manner? For FOUR CONSECUTIVE SERIES! Sounds to me as though it wasn't just the players, but the defensive coaching staff, that was unprepared.

Precisely. Just giving them the eye test, Tomlin and Dick looked at each other like, "WTF dude? What's going on? How can we stop this implosion?" I knew it before I read where Dick actually admitted it.

And that's acceptable? F no it ain't. We have tweedle Dee and tweedle Dumb operating without a clue. This stuff is BAAAAAAAAADDDDDDDDDD.

Did you not see the shots of DL and MT on the sidelines? Deer caught in head lights. The COACHES were ALSO rattled. They weren't getting the plays in there on time. They had no idea how to react, while everything Cleveland tried worked over and over and over again.

Part of young guys getting on the field is that they do not have experience in all game situations. This is a D with a rookie starter at a key position, and 2 starters who are new to the team and system. If you want new blood in the lineup, you need to go through the growing pains with them.

The good part is that this D will grow from this. The more they see this type of offensive pressure, the better able they will be to handle it. This unit will have to grow together. Remember, not only do we have rooks like Shazier, and new players such as Mitchell and Thomas, but...

McLendon is just in his second year as a starter
Jones is a second year player
Worilds is a second year starter
Heyward is a second year starter
Cortez is a second year starter

There is reason to expect that this unit should improve by experience and maturity as the year goes on.
