Larry Foote ... SO weird to see him in red

I wish him well, and assume he'll retire in the B&G to be there with James ...

Foote was a very good player for us, just getting a little old and and a little slow is all.

he did the same thing for Detroit and people called him trash...

he is solid but he isn't a star.

The Steelers could use solid right about now.

I appreciate what Foote brought to the Burgh when he was here, but there is no way that he is a better player than Timmons and Shazier right now. He is starting the desert because Karlos Dansby got more money elsewhere in free agency and Daryl Washington got a year suspension for drugs.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

I disagree about him vs. Shazier in this defense today. Shazier is a superstar in waiting, and will make highlight reel plays this year. However, he will also make some awful mistakes due to his inexperience. Some we will notice, others we will not even realize were his mistakes, but the coaches will know. Foote was an unspectacular player, who just always seemed to be in the right spot. You don't always notice him, and when you do it often is because he got dragged for two extra yards instead of stopping a runner in his tracks, but he would be a good player if he was here this year.

I'm not saying that I would rather have him this year over Shazier, because RS will grow much faster as a player this way, but there is no way that I believe that he is currently ahead of Foote in this D.

Foote may become a really good coach one of these days, talk about a guy that turned good but overall limited NFL potential and athleticism into a great career, he's smart, always in the right place and doesn't miss tackles.

This is kind of important after watching the Cleveland game. I don't really want Foote back either, but a player like him, as pedestrian as we all believe he was, is difficult to replace as well.

My mental image of Foote in the 2013 season is being half a step late way too often ... I figured his smarts couldn't keep up with his slowing down, if that makes any sense!

Did you guys see Ziggy Hood in action last night ? I only watched a bit of the game and he recovered a fumble... Had Ziggy been able to put on a pass rush, beat his man he, would have never been pushed back far enough to get the ball. The plays I seen him on, typical Ziggy Hood. Pushed back, pushed around like he was a shopping cart. Glad he is gone and what a waste of a number one pick and the a waste of developing others.

he actually looked better than I expected at this point in his career... dare i say, he looked FAST... had some good, quick reactions to a few run plays.

He looked Shazier fast! I couldn't believe that was Larry. I still can't believe it. I had no idea he had that much left in the tank. I honestly don't recall his looking as good as he did last night.

Ziggy Hood didn't play last night...he's not on the Giants, Lions, Chargers, or Cardinals.

He signed with the Jaguars, who played Philly this weekend at the same time our Steelers were playing.
