That call on 3 and 1 was also disgustingly bad. It was the worst possible call for the situation. Ben should have audibled out.
I have seen a few guys say Ben should have. BUT I think he audibled into that play or he faked me out and not the stains defense. He was yelling the same call he did many times in this game and other past games when he seemed to me to be switch to a running play. Go back and watch it. Wish I could remember what he called out. But I can not. Maybe they are trying to pull a Payton and it is not working for Ben?

Flat seems to be used in a way as to not give the opposition any credit.

The team didn't execute in the 2nd half as well as they did in the first half. Cleveland had something to do with that. Give those guys some credit.
What you refer to the Browns as reverting to form is what I would characterize as the Steelers making enough plays at key moments on offense and defense to win. Give the Steelers some credit for finding a way to win.

Maybe Ben audibled into that play? There are some things we will never know.

Exactly. Add to that the fact that neither team's starters had played a complete game yet. Both teams played one decent half of football, we did in the first, it was them in the second. Also, Cleveland is a decent team this year. I bet they beat the Rats and Cinci at least once each. We'll be lucky to go there and win as well.

So the bottom line is that we should wait a while before we look to Denver to see how it SHOULD be done? Like, at least till the end of the game? Truthteller, you may now remove hoof from mouth.

It doesn't matter if he audible into that play or did not audible out of it. Either way, it was a horrendous decision to go with that draw against a stacked line. Needed to be a quick pass.
Even if Bill Belichick was getting an atomic wedgie, his face would look exactly the same.

I think we thought the game was over at halftime and tried to milk a win. I also think our D is pretty suspect when it comes to defending the no huddle or stopping the run.

The team ran away in the first half and tried to take the air out of the ball in the second. The Browns came out flying and the coaching staff has learned that in today's NFL you can't play Martyball to start a half. Hopefully lesson learned, time to move on to Baltimore.

Exactly. Lots of lost leads yesterday. Steelers gave up 24 pts in the second half. Denver gave up 24 pts in the second half. Jacksonville gave up 33 straight pts! Patriots gave up lots of pts in the second half. Offense is definitely ahead of the defense at this point, especially in this era of the NFL.

Better to give up lots of points and win, than give em up and lose! Bring on the Rats!

Feeling dumb now? Just post you don't like Tomlin and therefore you won't be embarrassed by the actual outcome of games.

Cleveland beat Baltimore and Cincinnati once each last season!
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.
