Wow, didn't expect this much belly aching over a win. For one I think we have a better team than last year...that's something...that's progress. The O in the first half looked like I have always dreamed a Steeler O would look...amazing. I loved the innovative stuff going on...nice. Run game...nice...Wheaton can play. Justin Brown not too bad himself. Ben finally found his late game win again. Yes, the D needs work. We already knew that. We have little talent at DB. Troy is done...Ike is done...and Allen is an average #2. But, JJ had flashes...Shazier will be special...Tuitt will grow up. The D will take several years. Possibly wont get a lot better until LeBeau retires. It's going to take several drafts to correct the age on D. That's just the reality of it.
Well said but you hit the mark on saying it won't get "better until LeBeau retires." Still trying to do the same things he did 8-10 years ago in a league where offenses are completely different. How could he be so unready for the no huddle in the second half? Sad! I do have to disagree on fixing the "D" over the next 2-3 years. By then Ben will be done so what are we accomplishing? make the "O" even better because they will be the ones winning games.
"My team, may they always be right, but right or wrong...MY TEAM!"

Seriously O, did you watch any other games. How many games did the defense blow double digit leads? Cincy is supposed to have a good defense yet they gave up a 12 point lead. Jax had a 17 point lead yet allowed Philly to lap them. New Orleans supposedly has a good defense yet they lost the game after having 13 point leads twice. Then Denver, whom many think will have a defense that rivals Seattle, would have given up a 24 point lead except their offense scored a TD in the second half. As it was Indy was driving for the tying TD when a fourth down pass fell incomplete pretty deep in Denver territory.
So why do you think this is a LeBeau problem only? I saw many defenses copying the 10 yard cushion just like the Steelers run. Some were successful with it and some weren't. The successful ones were because of a pass rush using 4 people. Something the Steelers have a hard time doing.
As many on this site think ... The Rooney's suck, Colbert sucks, Tomlin sucks, the coaches suck, and the players suck.
but Go Steelers!!!

Seriously, I think any prognostication on the status of any team after the first game of the season is premature. The teams are barely out of the gate, and the first game is essentially a warm up for the rest of the season.
We're probably better than the result of our game. The Browns are probably better than the first half of the game. The Pats are probably better than the outcome of their game and so on..
We should reserve judgment until a little further into the season.
