People complain about Dick LeBeau and Todd Haley like it's their job, but the fact remains that having both of our coordinators intact means that system continuity should give us an advantage over the other teams in our division, where the only other returning coordinator is Ravens' D.C. Dean Pees. Baltimore lost its 2013 O.C. Jim Caldwell when he became head coach of the Lions, and replaced him with Gary Kubiak. Both of Cincy's coordinators were also given head coaching jobs (Jay Gruden in Washington and Mike Zimmer in Minnesota) and were replaced by Hue Jackson and Paul Guenther, respectively. The Browns cleaned house entirely, bringing in a new head coach (Mike Pettine replacing Rob Chudzinski) as well as two new coordinators (Kyle Shanahan replacing Norv Turner and Jim O'Neil replacing Ray Horton). Hopefully this helps us to start fast this year while our division opponents start slow while they adjust, especially since we start out the season with two division matchups in a five-day period with the Browns on Sunday and the Ravens on Thursday.
We have both coordinators back, and other other 3 AFCN teams return only one combined

We have both coordinators back, and other other 3 AFCN teams return only one combined
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.
Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.
We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.
We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.Tags: None -
Sorry if I don't assume having those coordinators back is a good thing. LaBuae is pushing 80. Haley is only OK when Ben goes no huddle and calls his own plays. If not, the O stinks. -
Yea! what has Lebaue ever accomplished anyway! He sucks. He's 80. He needs more than below average players to field a good defense. Posters on forums know more than he does! They're younger! Hire them! The league hasn't passed them by!

No one works - or lives - forever. If we see massive runs up the middle again this year, time to move on from Lubaea. The Rooneys are often too patient. And they wear being slow like a medal on their chest. Too much of a good thing ends up being bad. They often tread in that area.Comment

We'll never get to the super bowl with that approach. NEVER. Can't happen. NOT POSSIBLE.No one works - or lives - forever. True. But also true that players cannot win if their coaches don't prepare/discipline/adjust/playcall well or are not good enough. Teams will not win consistently without coaches doing what is necessary to help put them in position to win.
Otherwise, what point would there be in putting someone like Chuck Noll or Bill Walsh into the HOF? They wouldn't deserve it if it was all on the players; they were just lucky enough to be "along for the ride."
When a team doesn't win, often there is blame to be had by BOTH players and coaches.Comment

Nobody lives forever but some live longer than others, and golly gee, they even retain their faculties longer than others. LeBeau is 76, soon to be 77. I guess you could say that's "pushing 80". Winston Churchill was prime minister of the UK at 79 and lived 12 more years.
Age matters if you lose your faculties. Does anyone have evidence that LeBeau has lost his? I don't see it, not yet. If anyone can cite some evidence, please do so. Ummm, the fact that you disagree with his philosophies or his methods of coaching don't prove doogie.Comment
