Jets release Ras-I Dowling. Steelers Interested?

The Jets released Jacoby Ford, Ras-I Dowling. Should the Steelers take a look at Ras-I Dowling? I remember the complete predraft love fest on this board for Ras-I Dowling.

At this point, what is there to lose?

Is he better than Antwon Blake or Brice McCain? Does he play ST?
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

yes, he is but Dowling's problem always has been that he can't stay healthy...

surely somebody better than him will be released. better to wait if they are really thinking about a move at CB

at least this year they have the cap space to get a deal done if something unexpected does arise

I have a feeling they will be signing a CB. How can they honestly feel confident with our secondary?

i sure as hell wouldnt. gay has looked better than anyone by a wide margin

seahawks got some pretty good play out of the 1 year/prove it type contract. maybe we should explore that option if someone they like is there

Antwon Blake was rated the best CB on the team in the Philly game. I know it ain't saying much, but you don't jettison young talent if you see sparks.

that's kind of like being the tallest person at a midget convention...

i'd be all for picking up a CB to upgrade our secondary, but my question is this? If LeBeau's defense is so complicated that rookies cant handle it, how is it that a player from another team could come in and play in it after just a week or two of exposure to it?

Guilty of the Rasi Dowling man crush here...him and Chase Minnifield, those virginia CBs just had me on the hook.

Always thought he was a decent fit for CB and a possible conversion guy to FS

Although, at this point he is basically Donovan Warren (Mich) who was in camp with us a few years back
