This is one of the best mocks I have seen. I like most the picks...with the exception of knowing little about Urban, Thomas and Colvin. I agree about Lyerla...best TE in this draft hands down...compares to Gronk in both good and bad ways. Borland is a lunch pail Big Ten guy, love Abberderis (but would prefer Jarvis Landry), I've warmed on McCullers...and Shembo is a solid pick that late.
Your dream draft...

EJ Gaines held Mike Evans to 4 catches for only 8 yards in their head to head matchup...I see EJ mock going in the 4th, but who knows. Seems like a pure zone guy, as it looks like most think he will be toast going on man with NFL level WRs. Says he is smallish and loses fight for the ball too often. We already have guys who can do that, or we did, in C. Brown. Sounds just like him. That guy gets toast every time the opposing team goes deep. Like taking candy away from a baby.Comment

1. Darqueze Dennard, CB, Michigan State
2. Allen Robinson, WR, Penn State
I haven't looked into deeper rounds enough yet, but I definitely want those two.
Other guys I am a little bit familiar with and would take in the third if available (especially if the top two weren't selected):
Stanley Jean-Baptiste, CB, Nebraska
Terrence Brooks, S, Florida State
Jarvis Landry, WR, LSUComment

Been saying that for years! The 3-4 requires a perfect combination of players who ultimately are too hard to replace as we are seeing now."My team, may they always be right, but right or wrong...MY TEAM!"Comment

That is an excellent mock draft. I would be very happy if it played out that way. Just not sure Urban lasts until Round 5. Might swap McCullers and Urban.1)-Kyle Fuller-CB-Va Tech- Best corner in this draft
2)-Chris Borland-ILB-Wisconsin-plug him inside for the next 10 years and forget it
3)-Jarred Abrederris-WR-Wisconsin-Hines Ward part deux
4)-Daniel McCullers-DT-Tennesee-poor mans Hampton
5a)-Brent Urban-DE-Virginia-Raw player much in the mold of a young Kiesel
5b)-Brandon Thomas-OL-Clemson-second round value
6a)-Aaron Colvin-CB-Oklahoma-second round value
6b)-Prince Shembo-OLB-Notre Dame- special teamer and depth
7)-Colt Lyerla-TE-Oregon-1 year ago I started a thread saying he should be our 1st round pick"My team, may they always be right, but right or wrong...MY TEAM!"Comment

Dream Draft? I'll go the same "direction" as Shawn with some "fallers" which is very possible with the depth. Nice draft. That Nix pick in the 2nd could be one of those picks that happen where you could call it armed robbery a couple years down the road. I still feel the Steelers targets are Evans, Gilbert, & Dennard...And they won't waste any time getting to the podium if one is there. I think Evans has the least chance of falling but one of Dennard or Gilbert has a shot. It just takes one team to like one more than the other & the other could fall because a team liked "the other guy". They go to their next PON....Which ends up being a mistake sometimes. So just out of personal preference...But would be happy with either...I'll start with someone making Dennard the 1st CB off the board & Gilbert falls.
1st Justin Gilbert CB
2nd Kelvin Benjamin WR
3rd Carl Bradford LB
4th Taylor Hart DE
5a Jerick McKinnon RB
5b Kevin Pierre-Louis LB
6a Shaquille Richardson CB
6b Blake Annen TE
7th Beau Allen NTComment

Why not, we took an OLB last year who can't sack the QB. Bet Ebron would get at least 20 receptions this year. Like I said, Ebron is not a 70s era TE, and we shouldn't want one, and fits the game of 2014 by creating match up nightmares for the defense that helps everyone else out."My team, may they always be right, but right or wrong...MY TEAM!"Comment

1. CJ Mosley LB Alabama - good football IQ, plays the pass well, productive from a big name school.
2. Jordan Matthews WR Vanderbilt - tall at 6'3" very productive, what's not to like. oh yea and Jerry Rice is in the family.
3. (comp)EJ Gaines CB Missouri - don't think Phillip Gaines is there who I like a touch better but this guy is a willing tackler and has good coverage skills, ball awareness.
4. Arthur Lynch TE Georgia - stud in-line blocker, not much of a receiving threat but shows good hands. Munchak would love this guy imo. Can help our LT whoever that turns out to be.
5. Ross Cockrell CB Duke - we definitely need to get two CBs. 2 yr Team captain, good hands, good zone coverage skills, 53 pass break ups.
5. Derrick Hopkins DT Virginia Tech. Stout at the line, plays bigger than his 310lbs. Shows some quickness too. High football IQ
6. Josh Mauro DE Stanford - Great value in the 6th if still available. Strong dude, and reportedly another Keisel. Nice!
6. Shaquil Barrett OLB Colorado State - Great motor and IQ, good in pass coverage too. Mountain West Def. MVP after Joey Porter came on as an intern. Porter will be pushing for this guy.
7. Quincy Enunwa WR Nebraska - Great blocker, strong, 6'2" another big red zone target, 12 TDs.
Derrick Hopkins and Josh Mauro could flip positions, wasn't sure where they would project at.1. C.J. Mosley LB Alabama
2. Jordan Matthews WR Vanderbilt
3. (comp) Philip Gaines CB Rice
4. Arthur Lynch TE Georgia
5. Ross Cockrell CB Duke
5. (comp) Derrick Hopkins DT Virginia Tech
6. Josh Mauro DE Stanford
6. (comp) Shaquil Barrett OLB Colorado State
7. Quincy Enunwa WR NebraskaComment

Nah I would rather have a TE who can catch and block in the 7th round...who is actually the better of the two talents. Why not, we took an OLB last year who can't sack the QB. Bet Ebron would get at least 20 receptions this year. Like I said, Ebron is not a 70s era TE, and we shouldn't want one, and fits the game of 2014 by creating match up nightmares for the defense that helps everyone else out.Trolls are people too.Comment

You mean when he isn't putting white powder up his nose?
I was big on Lyerla last year but I don't think the Steelers would touch him. Just too much baggage. If he had stayed clean he would had been a Round 1 consideration."My team, may they always be right, but right or wrong...MY TEAM!"Comment

One in the same. For a 7th rounder, if he only had a 10% of staying clean...I would pull the trigger. We are talking a Gronk ceiling...and the guy can block. What are we to lose...a 7th? Come on...bring the guy in for pennies and see if he can clean up his act. Too much talent to not take a look.Trolls are people too.Comment
