    Media can be so lame

They are acting like no work on a new Pouncey news....is news. Lame. Why would they work on a new deal for him? I see no need for it. Actually, I don't see a need to re-sign him period, and certainly not for top $. Why would they? Cody Wallace played BETTER than MP. MP is overrated because he was a first round pick and a center for the Steelers. Yea, normally that would indicate he would become a very good player; only problem is that never actually happened. He has actually regressed since his rookie year. And if this is who we have as one of our "leaders" then that's a huge part of our problem right there. Having wanna be thugs as your leaders is not a good thing.

He has not regressed...id agree that he hasnt gotten much better, but backwards? No

He looked like a superstar as a rookie because he beat out justin hartwig, who was out of football for 3 years and still led the league for sacks given up for a center over the previous 7 seasons. Hes a good player, but they cant afford to extend him now

Wallace played admirably...but i guarantee not a single person in that steelers FO or coaching staff would agree with you that hes better than pouncey. Thats a classic fan overreaction.

Also, Cody Wallace will be 30 this season....Pouncey is still just 24, to put that in perspective jarvis jones is 24

Sometimes the team is wrong. They are biased. They have egos, unlike how Belichick rolls. He does what's right. These guys make decisions with trying to save their egos. For instance, they want history to reflect on them as genius in drafting. They will be slow to admit (not verbally but with their actions) that a free agent off the street actually played as well - or better - than their first round pick. They sell an agenda that they are masterful in the draft. You can easily see what they are selling by listening to the announcers during games. How many times did we hear announcers parrot that Mark Bruener was "the best blocking TE in the NFL?" Why did they tell us this ad nauseam? Because he wasn't a very good TE, but they took him in the 1st round, and since he lacked production in the passing game, they had to keep telling us he was the "best blocker" to try to keep their image as masterful in the draft. How long did they keep acting like Chad Scott was good when he was just terrible? How long did they attempt to sell Kordell Stewart as a good QB when the rest of the league knew he stunk? (The Bears benched him within a few games and the Ravens were starting QBs off the street instead of allowing Kordell to play in games that counted.) Pgh took how long to realize he stunk? Forever. Why? Saving ego, after Cowher pushed for a new contract when KS had two years remaining on his old deal. That is why they kept the failed experiment going for so long: ego. If trends stay as are, I don't think they will re-up MP, because, like I said, Cody was just as good or better. I don't care how young MP is; he won't be worth the $ he will stand to make. Wallace has at least 4-5 years left. We can worry about finding a new OC in time. They are not that hard to find, especially ones who get hurt all the time.

As an aside, it is now becoming apparent that U of FL is replete with thugs. Commentators are now saying that - since the Fernandez chain of events - teams will no longer overlook character issues and take risks like that. Speaking of stuff like this, what in the world is up with the Aldon Smith story?

ummm... they said Bruener was a great blocking TE because he WAS a great blocking TE.

I don't understand why fans get mad at the analyst for talking about the players on the 2 teams they are paid to analyze.

Cowher also stuck with Kordell because he is from the Marty school of coaching where the QB is the last position they address.

IDK if it's the last position that they address, but I think the belief is that if you have a competent athlete at the position you can win if you control the LOS.

If it wasn't last it was in the bottom 3rd...probably behind the punter and the FG kicker.
