Have you failed to watch our OL the past 3 years? Really think it has the talent to be Top 10-15 in the NFL?

Yes, I think it has that potential. We have two #1 picks, two #2 picks and the whole crew has starting NFL experience. Heck, we might even be able get Velasco back before the beginning of camp if his rehab has gone well. Add Mike Munchak to the mix and I think we are more than set at OL. They were playing well toward the end of last year despite their trials. In fact, those trials have shown us that there are some guys that can ball in that group. OL is not even a concern of mine going into the season- that's the first time in a loooooooooong time I can say that.

If we can get a stud WR or the heir to Heath, great. Perhaps another RB, but I'm not even sure about that with the number of guys that will be on the street (possibly including LaSH). Other than that, I'm thinking Defense, Defense, Defense in this draft.

The line was night and day better the back end of last year and that was before munchak. I don't want an olineman in the first round even if Matthews falls. We have more pressing needs.

They may think that with all of the draft picks they have invested over the past few years in the OL and by the way they have been playing towards the end of the year, that it's entirely possible that they have no OL on their draft board as they are stacking it. Just like they would have no QB's on their board.......

I agree with you that we have more pressing needs, but Jake Matthews would be a great addition that I don't think the Steelers could pass up. They went to see Lewan at his pro day so I would think LT is a consideration. He would be BPA by far imo. Matthews at LT and Adams at RT with Bell and Blount = some version of running game porn.

I agree that they have more pressing needs... BUT..lol

and Mike Adams still has a heck of a long ways to go before I start getting excited about him. Beachum is a better player than he and Gilbert.

Adams can do some damage run blocking. But, yes, Beachum is better all around than those two.

I agree. I hope Munchak can coach the kid up this year and teach him how to pass protect.

Can't believe I'm falling for it again but I'm actually excited to see what Munchak can do with Adams.

If Mathews falls to #15, The phone will will be ringing like crazy with trade offers.

In that event, we take the best trade offer and acquire more picks.

Another 3rd and late round pick would do wonders.
I hope something like this happens for the Steelers because I also liked the direction the OL was pointing in the last two months of the season. And I feel Munchak can continue that movement.

Hmm... another possible scenario that I could live with. Only problem is, I am hoping this is the last time in a long time that we have a chance of snagging a top 3 franchise LT with our rd 1 pick..

Not even close a ton of value at WR left but no LT even close can still get good WR in 2-6

Some positions are just harder to find top end talent and LT is one of them. Plus, primadonna WRs don't usually last more than a couple years in our system

Nah...who needs a franchise LT. You can probably grab one after the draft as an UDFA. Besides that, we spent first and second round picks before on the OL so we therefore don't need a franchise LT...

You run up to the podium to select him, and then you go over to each of the team tables who passed on him to thank them.

Keep in mind that if he's there & we don't take him - he falls to the Ravens rights behind us & you face him for the next 4-8 years.
