Don't like to see this type of rumors for draft guys connected to Steelers.

NFL | Kelvin Benjamin skips on workoutThu, 10 Apr 2014 13:34:10 -0700Florida State WR Kelvin Benjamin recently blew off a workout with an NFL coach who was on a special trip to see the prospect. Benjamin's excuse was that he was too tired. Comment | Source: NFL.com - Gil Brandt | Share - See more at: http://www.kffl.com/hotw/nfl#sthash.B9Ng36QH.dpuf So how bad is this do you guys think? Does it impact his spot on the Steelers draft board? Is this another reason to STAY far away from round 1 WR's?

Man that does look bad. I don't think the Steelers have Benjamin on the radar in Rd 1 though...

My guess is CB.. with the best WR available in Rd 2. Could be "Flip flopped"...with WR in 1 and DB in 2... but I don't think it's Benjamin either way.

Don't want him in the first round anyhow.
Obviously the standard is the standard.

Yea, gosh, I had a bad feeling about that guy, in general. I suspected just this very thing. I don't care how talented the guy is, you can't fix stupid or bad attitude and he has both. Cross him off the board. We need only positive attitude players.

You guys are nuts. If you believed every single rumor about players leading up to the draft, you'd never select anyone!

I'm not sold on Benjamin at 15 anyway, but if I were the Steelers and he were my highest rated player at that spot, I wouldn't hesitate to take the guy.

This is could be any number of things. Could be that the coach who came to see him was from a late drafting team and his agent told him to skip it. After the guard from Clemson tore his ACL during a workout, I don't blame him!

Heck, it could be a rumor started by a team that WANTS to draft Benjamin but don't pick until later in the draft and hope he falls to them.

I think most of us commented on this ASSUMING it was what it was. If there is some reasonable explanation, then OK, but if this was him purely not letting a coach know he wasn't going to be there, and the coach traveled to see him, than I don't want any part of a player like that. You don't disrespect people like that.

It would be consistent with other things said about Benjamin. With that said, I don't believe he is even on the Steelers radar for the first round. He isn't polished enough to go at 15. He might fall to us in round 2 and there it might get interesting.

If true, that is definitely concerning.

BUT - for a team with a limited window to win, if Benjamin is there in the 2nd because of this....grab him and try to whoop him into shape.

Maybe it was a team he didn't want to get drafted by or play for? Did Benjamin commit to the workout or did the scout assume that if he showed up Benjamin was obligated to work out? Perhaps he was sick and hadn't slept? A whole lot of unknowns.

Yes there are a lot of unknowns, but giving the "I'm too tired" excuse is pitiful. This coming from the guy who defended his slow times by saying he is a strider and can run all game long. Didn't like him to begin with and still don't.

This shouldn't be a surprise. And just as big an issue with him is he isn't ready to be an NFL WR. And this just in....

you can get one who is NFL ready in round two. Like Jordan Matthews or Donte Moncrief.

Brandt just happens to be the only guy hearing this with his super special coaching contact. Yawn.

Ike said this guy is going all out in preparation.
