With the 8 million freed up after June 1... I look for the FO to re-sign Keisel and JH. I would almost bet they've told each of them to stay in shape...and get ready for camp.

After June 1st we'll get some money free from LW contract so I would think at that time depending on what we don't get in the draft we'll add a veteran.

Kiesel said he won't play for vet minimum so scratch that and JH is done he wasn't good his last year here with the injuries along with that plus a year older. I don't think those two are in the plans, from the reports they won't even return Kiesel calls.

The team is trying to get younger and faster, the last two years should tell you that.

Harrison did pretty well his last year in Pittsburgh after he got healthy. He actually did pretty well despite the misfit for him in Cincy as well. The guy can still stuff the run about as good as anyone. He knows the system and I see no reason why couldn't be expected to be a solid contributor as long as he understands that he isn't coming in to start (sans injury).

At times...there is no rhyme or reason to what they are doing steel... how else do you explain letting Carrington walk out of Pittsburg.. then signing a 1.5 mill contract with another team 2 weeks later.. At least we got Guy Whimper sewed up in a timely manner..lol

I like the bulk of the personnel moves they've made so far this year.. but there is still much to be desired. Would be no need to bring back Keisel had they signed Carrington.

                There is rhyme and reason...

They needed several things this off season:

                A starting free aafety
                WR depth
                DL depth
                LB depth
                RB depth

They filled all of these needs for a relative pittance under the salary cap....

Not to mention retaining OL depth...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

I don't know much about Carrington nor Cam T, but maybe they liked Cam better than Alex because Colbert said at the owners meeting that Cam was signed to play DE which he played some at SD.

As Mark Kaboly pointed out that teams was lining TE on his side to force him into coverage and take advantage of him. And if JW and JJ is your starters would you rather have a mid 30's Lb who will only be on the team this year only as a backup OR a young speedy Lb that you can develop for a couple of years not named Chris Carter.

hmm.. would have rather signed Carrington than Whimper... Other than that, like I said, I was down with the "Bulk" of what has happened thus far.

That could be. I hope the kid surprises me.

It wasn't a choice between Carrington and Whimper...it was Carrington and Thomas...

when you get down to that last 2-3 million in cap space.. I have to think it is in some way related...

if we were in Cleveland's situation (many millions under the cap), I would have to agree with you.

Cam Thomas was signed on March 14th I believe.. and the talks with Carrington went on for a few more days after that signing... so I'm thinking it was not a choice of Thomas v Carrington..

CARRINGTON was brought in first, Cam didn't leave without a contract. If my memory serves me correctly.
