I just don't see the purpose in drafting a player that high that you aren't going to use for somewhere between 2 and 5 years, barring injury to Ben of course.

I get the whole "value" idea when you have someone graded top 5 and you can draft him at 15, but don't need a place for him to play a little sooner than the Steelers hope they will need him?

You get value for him one way or the other...

If he's there at #15, someone will trade up for him...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

Green Bay drafting Rodgers at 1.24 - something like that with a top QB and an aging, oft injured starter would be more feasible.

Not at 1.15 though, especially when Gradkowski can be a decent fill in and they drafted the QB they want to groom in the 4th last year.

The Packers when drafting Rodgers? They had Craig Nall and Doug Pederson as their backups the year before drafting Rodgers. Nall threw 15 more passes in his career (bringing his career total to 4, and Pederson was never heard from again after Rodgers was drafted.

And, if a team doesn't want to trade up, do you still take him?

hell no... I think Bridgewater will be a good QB but I think we can get a similar QB a few years later when Ben is ready to retire.

My own personal 15-man draft board, eh? Well, I won't have any QB's on it, because I won't be taking one with my first pick. I imagine that my top 15 would look something like this:

              1. Greg Robinson, OT, Auburn
              2. Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M
              3. Khalil Mack, DE/OLB, Buffalo
              4.
              Jadeveon Clowney, DE/OLB, South Carolina
              5. Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson
              6. Mike Evans, WR, Texas A&M
              7. Justin Gilbert, CB, Oklahoma State
              8. Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan
              9. Anthony Barr, DE/OLB, UCLA
              10. Louis Nix, DT, Notre Dame
              11. Eric Ebron, TE, North Carolina
              12. Marqise Lee, WR, USC
              13. Darqueze Dennard, CB, Michigan State
              14. HaHa Clinton-Dix, S, Alabama
              15. Calvin Pryor, S, Louisville
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.
