I would be very surprised if Leslie Frazier is the new DC for two reasons. One, he has never run a 3-4 and two the Steelers brass has told Kevin Butler he is next in line. The Rooney's dont go back on their word.

Out of curiosity, is this your speculation or from a source?

                Agreed!

The ONLY reason the Steelers would stiff Kevin Butler, at this point, is if they were planning to convert the D to a 4-3 (something which, considering the present personnel on the roster, might make sense). If that was the case, it really wouldn't alter draft strategy but it would increase the urgency of bolstering DL depth.

My sense is that it is Butler's job to lose if LeBeau retires.

You are right. Butler will be the DC if Rooneys told him he is next in line, end of story.

Whisenhunt and Grimm both thought they were next in line once upon a time, though...
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

They may have thought that but they were never actually told that like Butler has been. Big difference.

First of all, his name is Keith...

2nd, Grimm apparently was told that he would be HC...

3rd, SKL usually has good info...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

Yeah, Kevin Butler was the former placekicker for the Bears, and father of the punter we had last season.

Frazier could make a lot of sense...

Both Frazier and Tomlin were Dungy assistants...

Frazier has a zone blitz background as an assistant under DC Jim Johnson at Philadelphia...

As a side note, Frazier led the 85 Bears in INTs...playing in Buddy Ryan's 46 defense...

And he also led the 2013 Minnesota Vikings to a 5-10-1 record and the 31st ranked defense. No Thanks!
