The Pittsburgh Steelers have announced that tight end Matt Spaeth has been activated to their 53-man roster.
The 30-year-old was placed on his side's injured reserve - designated to return list just before the start of the season with a foot injury.
However, he has made strides in his recovery and returned to practice without any further setbacks and is poised to play for the remaining four games of the year.
As a result of his activation the Steelers released fellow tight end Richard Gordon to make room for Spaeth on the roster.
The Steelers are 5-7 in their season going into week 14.
