It seems to me that the Steelers come out flat and slow in many games. Ir certainly seems so this year, and it seems this has been the case over the past few years. Perhaps my perception is off. Tonight, I have to believe that the way we played so flat in the 1st quarter (actually most of the 1st half) cost us this crucial game tonight.
Why do our Steelers come out flat in the 1st Quarter of so many games?

Thank you, the Steelers gave away two drives tonight that the Ravens didn't even really have to defend, ridiculous. On the other hand, Ben was in complete control of the game and the offense, his play selection was on point, his reads were excellent, he did miss a few throws, but all in all he played a great game. Manny Sanders on the other hand, if he can hold on to any one of the three he dropped, there could have been a different outcome tonight.

This needs to be Ben's team on offense, with coach as consultant and facilitator. This D needs a leader too.

Outscored by over 2 to 1 in the 1st quarters this year.
After scoring average of 31 points in the previous 4 games largely out of the no-huddle, we run a total of 5 plays called in the no-huddle in the 1st half. Zero points in the 1st half.
Down 13 - 0 midway through the 3rd quarter last night. Even 1 score by the offense in the 1st half, and we win the game.

To me, it's this simple, hand the ball to Ben and get out of the way. Ben can run the offense as well as Manning, Brady, etc if they just let him. He's every bit as good as them, but with the ability to extend a play and make a silk purse out of sow's ear when necessary.

that's a bit of a stretch pappy. Peyton Manning and Tom Brady are two of the best QB's of all time. I've never heard anyone refer to Ben as being at their level.Comment

I agree with you Ernie, but Pap's point is still valid, even if you take the part about his being in the same group as those two. Who knows if he might not improve to that level if given the same latitude that they have been given.Steel City Mafia
