Do we still think Haley is the problem?

Yep. People are all so ready to dump on Rooney for all this, but Tomlin took ownership of it. I've not seen evidence that Tomlin is a liar. Until I see such evidence, I tend to take him at his word.

I think that after the 2011 season, because of our red zone woes, Tomlin felt compelled to make a change. Might he have been feeling some pressure from Rooney? Sure...but I doubt whether Art II told him exactly what to do. And I highly doubt that he told him to hire Haley. If Kirby Wilson hadn't gotten burned in that house fire, I think he'd have been Tomlin's OC choice.

And I think I've got just as much evidence for my opinions as the ARII haters have for theirs.

On target! Cracks me up how some think Tomlin should just spew whatever he wants. He part of an established organization and team and his job is to be the good soldier not pander to fans desires and the media

Since when is not lying just "spewing whatever one wants" and "pandering to fans desires and the media"? Maybe some fans desire integrity.

Cracks me up how some folks are so ready to believe Tomlin lies (when he has no track record of doing such) but are so ready to believe someone like Obama tells the truth (when, well, you know...).

Exactly. Tomlin took ownership of it...it doesn't mean that it was his idea or that he is a liar...

Tomlin said HE chose to fire Arians and then to hire Haley. Was he being truthful in saying that? If you say no, then you are saying he lied, and if he lied, then, by definition, that would make him a liar. Doesn't matter if you call it being a "good soldier," or whatever.

            I don't believe he lied.

Yes, it means he LIED. He could have said that it was agreed upon that changes need to be made and left it at that. He doesn't have to answer specific questions with dead specific answers. Not only did he say he did it but he ADDED that the Rooney's had NO input AT ALL into either decision. He could have said he discussed it with them or some other vague answer. But he doesn't do that. He doesn't just take ownership of it, he owns it, drives it, and parks it.

So he is either a confident liar (saying something that isn't true) or he is a stand up guy and told the truth. There isn't another option.

Too often people like to take a complete unit like the team and split it into various parts. Teams encapsulated by the overall team. The teams are coaches, individual players, O vs D, special teams and so on. All these teams are created to assign blame or to reward dependent on the agenda. What people forget that all of the individual teams make up the Steelers and they win and lose as a team regardless of our agendas. As we dive deeper and deeper into these divided teams we are slowly becoming less fans of the overall team (Steelers). It's gotten to the point where people were still driving their agendas after SB wins...sad state to be in.
ours is not to wonder why just invert and multiply...

That's called a lie and he is a liar. There are no standup liars. It also makes no sense. So he is either a dumb liar or he is telling the truth. There was no reason to fall on any grenades. He could have just said it was an organizational decision and left it at that. But he goes out of his way to explain it and take 100% credit for it for NO reason.

It is STILL A LIE. Wow, how would you like your wife or husband to define a lie the way you do?
