The eagles

No, not the band!

If anyone has access to nfl rewind - I highly recommend watching the eagles new offense. It's only week one so I'm not going to make any claims. Watch it however from the point of view as simply a fan of football. It was fast. Aggressive. Dynamic. 30 plays in the first quarter alone. It had Washington on its heals right from the start. It reminded me of how the zone blitz used to confuse offenses. I watched chip Kelly and that gang laughing, going for the jugular and keeping the tempo high.

It was fun to watch.

I don't know if that's the future - but if so, we are a long ways off.

(but stains fans must be furious they couldn't land chip Kelly!)

Agree muchly. They wore out a bit in the 2nd half, but by then they had worn down the Skins D and the damage was done.

The Eagles ... the band??

Could have fun with "theme songs"!

Haley - "I'm Already Gone"
Tomlin - "Desperado"
MNF - "Gonna Be A Heart Ache Tonight"
Who does DD say made him make that tackle?: "Gypsy Woman"

OK, sorry, I'll shut it down now!

We got our "6-PACK" - time to work on a CASE!

I'm interested in seeing how the league adjusts...for awhile, the "wildcat" offense was the flavor of the month...it took a year or so, but the league adjusted...

While Kelly is quite the innovator, I think that the coaches and defensive athletes in the league will be able to come up with answers...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

I love it... it's fast, and wide open.. kind of reminds me of the run and shoot the first year.

Teams will adjust but you have to remember... they can still slow down and run plays like a normal team if need be...

The main thing I love about it is the offense looks like they bought in 100%.

I'm not a fan of the Eagles band either. But that Hotel California is anything but shallow.

It's nothing more than the flavor of the month.

perhaps. certainly time will tell. but if the eagles are running the flavor of the month, what does that make our stale, unimaginative, bubble screen, delayed draw, quick slant offense we run year in and year out?

I was thinking the same thing...Mylie Cyrus and Don Henley shallow? No comparison

What about faking cramps? Instant buzz kill if the D starts flopping between plays.

It's a shallow as they could get. Blatant attempt to write an anthem as if they were a band with meaning (see Stones "Can't Always Get What You Want", The Who "Won't Get Fooled Again", Zeppelin "When The Levee Breaks"), droning, uninspired guitar wankarama at the end, juvenile mystical lyrics. It highlights every reason why the Eagles sucked, which of course made it so popular to the masses.

I'm with you that their music sucks. But "you can check out anytime you want, but you can never leave" just might be one of the best lyrics ever written. Maybe it was an accidental lyric, but I can't think of another lyric that is such a meaningful warning toward the choices we make in life. For me, it's one of those lines that stops and makes me think every time I hear it.

It's that dang RAP music that is the cause of all the violence we see around us - Eagles are prime Example #1 !!!

She sure didn't have a peaceful easy feeling.
Vernett Bader, 54, is accused of stabbing her live-in ex-boyfriend Monday night because he wouldn't stop listening to The Eagles at their North Charleston, S.C. residence, according to ABC News 4.
Police say Bader was watching TV with the man's brother and told her 64-year-old ex to turn his music off. The ex responded by telling her to "shut up" and took her tolerance to the limit by continuing to play the classic rock tunes.
Apparently not one to take it easy, Bader then allegedly grabbed a bread knife and started swinging it at the man. He told police by the time he managed to get the knife away from her, the desperado was already gone, headed to the kitchen to get another, the Post and Courier reported. The victim locked himself in the bathroom to get away from her.
Police say Bader admitted to stabbing the man, but said it was out of self-defense because he was choking her.
Investigators, who noted there were no marks on her neck, did not believe her allegedly lyin' eyes.
She's at the Charleston County Jail now, and will likely make a court appearance one of these nights.
Eagles songs aren't the only music to push someone over the edge. In April, a Colorado woman allegedly started choking her boyfriend after he sang Macklemore's "Thrift Shop" 25 times.
